Skipping the quest I went on to trade my wolf in for a White Tiger once I saw them in Factions.

I tamed a Polar Bear on Jora, just looks sweet next to her.

I would say that White tiger is the best followed by any Wolf then the Bears. Never been a real spider fan but they look cool with a necro/ranger.

Indeed wolfs are plenty good BUT they are free and easy to get with PvP character, and annoying as hell to see ANOTHER wolf, so ... is sad, ArenaNet must change PvP pet to other thing, time to time.

Black Moas all. Eight Black Moa pets on a 2+6 team with a MM or two is a sight to behold. Simply for the humor value though - never actually done anything serious with this.

Favorite pet: currently I have a black wolf and I really like those but I regret giving up my lynx that I got in Kryta when I 1st got there. I carried it with me through all the games until EotN.

My ranger is a prophecies character, so naturally her first pet is the stalker, which I have to gave up because of the pet tamer quest. and then she didn't have a pet until I found out there are brown bear in whitman folley. Has been with my ranger ever since.

All my heros that need pet will from now on, actually since EOTN came out, train polar bear to be their pet.

All my characters have a pet....some I can't remember what it is as I haven't used them in a while.

My ranger started out with a wolf, I hated the howling. As soon as she got to the desert she tamed a dune lizard and named him Igor. That was in 2005, and none of the new pets could replace him.

My necro has a spider named Dead Bow, my monk has a bear named Bryant, my ritualist has a phoenix, forgot the name of it. The others I don't remember what they have.

For my ranger, each of her heroes has a different non-bird pet.
For my ritualist, each of her heroes has a bird pet.

not sure how many remeber but an update glitch caused some rangers to lose their pets if they died in combat...and they were gone totally. It only affected a small group cause Anet quickly fixed the glitch but sadly, some of us lost our original pets..i was among the unlucky ones. Then i got me a dune lizard from the Crystal Desert and have had Gojirae ever since!

All my heros have pets ranging from blue lurker, lioness, Black Moa, iquana (sp), and a croc...i find it fun to run around pve with my Zoobuilds LOL Nothing like seeing a herd of critters confusing a mob as we pick them off

I've had a pre-Searing wolf since the beginning, but when GWEN came out and they had white ones, I had to have one of those. Wolves and I are tight, especially white ones. hehe

My heroes' pets consist of the following:

Tahlkora has a lynx
Razah has a dune lizard
Olias has a Jahai rat
Zenmai has a crocodile
Margrid has a white tiger
Jin has a lion
Goren has a black bear
Pyre has a mountain eagle

I was going to make all my heroes have a pet even if they didn't always bring them. But I have a long way to go since I have every single hero in the game yet. lol

Favorite pet: White Tiger
First Pet: Tiger
Currently: White Tiger
Jin: White Tiger,
Margrid: White Tiger,
Zenmai: White Tiger,
...the rest are waiting their turn.

I liked Tigers the most as they won't scale, so they are not in ridiculous proportions relative to the rest of the characters to block/clip everyone at the cutscenes

My first pet was the strider.
Current pet is a regular moa.
My mesmer/ranger got a phoenix when she beat factions, and I'm working on getting it to 20. I really like it except for the stupid horn on its head.

I'm considering getting the black moa for one of my heroes, but the spiked collar is just kinda silly.

Blue crabs are cute.

Why did they put rats in the game, though? Where are the foxes, kirin, parrots, and domestic dogs?

i love tigers too...especially white tiger..

just in case some were not aware..as of the 18 oct update factions pets now increase in size as they evolve, not really sure how much they grow though in comparison.

second, I had a Hearty bear and then I got rid of him to get a Hearty black widow, and then after awhile I realized how much I loved my bear and wanted one again.
Fave- the Hearty bear, which I am currently working on my second one again. Level 6 atm

The phoenix. It was the first online name I used (Warlady Phoenix) and I've always had a love for them, so yeah... :P

My Ele/Ranger's Melandru's Stalker.

Warrior has a Lioness, Ranger has a phoenix, sin has a phoenix, necro has a lizard, dervish has a crocodile, ele has a lizard I think... not sure anymore, and my other chars don't have any... yet.

Like a lot of people my first pet was a Melandru's Stalker (named Tigger) - they have always been my favorite too. Between my Ranger and the various character's Heroes, I've had nearly every pet there is at some point (no Pink Flamingo though.)

At this time I have a Black Wolf, Jin has a White Wolf, and Margrid has a Snow Wolf. (Tahikora has a Melandru's Stalker, but, of course, it never comes out to play

and whatshisface Charr has a Raven, but I don't use him atm.) I recently had a Rainbow Pheonix, but they are too big and ugly.

The hardest to tame so far, was an Elder (Snow?) Wolf in the Shiverpeaks (because I had to get it before the dwarfs did.). The oddest was a White Moa my Devish's Jin got. It was odd because I got it outside Olafstead - but I couldn't attack it, so I basically gave up and started to go on my way. Then I noticed a "Pet - White Moa" heading our way. I don't know how or when Jin tamed it, but she did.

What is your fave pet in the game? Definately the Black Widow (^^,) Even tho I'm a Necro and don't use the pet in battle, I wanted one coz I think they look ossum next 2 necros! ( Me & my pet )

My favourite pet? My strider on my ranger. She's grown all big and huge, though she likes to hog the limelight in any and all cutscenes.

My first pet? A mel's stalker on my main, a warrior.

What do I have now? My ranger still has her strider and the warrior has a phoenix.

Do my heroe's have pets? Yes. My main, has all NF and GWEN heroe's with pets (all different, such as Jora with a polar bear, Hayda a white crab, Tahlkora a white tiger etc). My ranger runs B/P hero group so all have pets. She has a strider, Margrid a Moa and Jin a black moa

My fav has to be the Melandru's stalker my ranger has been through it all with Savemea Bite by her side and could never trade her in for anything - Even a statute of a spider or whatever. I was upset the MS wasn't a separate statue for those who kept their original pet. I was surprised the bear wasn't either.

*Rolls eyes* I'm a LITTLE pet obsessed...
My first pet was, as with tradition, a Melandru's Stalker from pre-searing that i named Bunny and my ranger still has - although shes not in use anymore :P
My Monk has a bear (I have a nice Boon build i used to use with her before the days of factions where the bear giefed energys! XD) his name is Mouse!
My Monks heros ALL have Polar Bears (Great for a mm in the party which i nearly always have and for body blocking)
My Necromancer's heros all have Crocs
My Sin's heros all have Jahai Rats
My Warrior has a Lynx called Panda. She is storage now with no heros :P
My Dervish's Heros all have Lionesses. Except for talk who has a lion :P
My Elementalist's Hero's all have White Tigers.
My Ranger's Hero's all have warthogs, she has a mini pet pig that follows her around as well as her pet which is a phoinex (from end of factions :P) called Piegon!
My Ritualist's Hero's all have Crows. She has a Crane as a pet - called Duck (named after my bf lol) which i will replace with a Rainbow Phoniex once i have earned the title :P
