I need some help deciding what secondary I should choose for my Necro, I have never played as one before.

I mainly want a build that suits AB. I have all campaigns except GWEN, but I will be getting it.

Thanks for any help.

Yes, I don't have any PvP only characters. Sorry I kinda made it look like I was only ever going to PvP with the Necro.

But I do want to use it for PvE, Probably more than in PvP.

/a for mobility, some self heals
/mo for heal, anti conditions, anti hex
/r I dunno some like that but inferior to /a
/w for defense and mobility
/d for pious haste

You do know you can change your secondary right?

Just complete the game using N/Mo creating your character in Factions.

Easiest.

/Me has the most synergy.

/E has GoLE

/A has excellent mobility

/Mo for self heals and condition/hex removal.

Those are my second professions, and i switch around depending on the need of the group or, to a greater extent, my mood.

However, you can play with only necro skills and bring a hard rez from your secondary profession. It's best to play that way.

He said he wanted a secondary for AB. a necro uses only necro skills with 1-2 slots for utility. for /d, pious haste allows you to escape from mobs, move to the next shrine, or rejoin you mates after being killed.

Pious Haste is mysticism which is the Dervish primary attribute.

Oh man you learn something new every day, I always presumed you couldn't use skills from another professions primary attribute.

I feel like a fool.

Awesome, there's a whole bunch of skills I've overlooked. Gonna have to spend a few hours on the wiki.

Necros in PvP are generally always gimmick bullshit anyway. I wouldn't suggest using one. If you really want to, however, I'd suggest /E for Glyph of Lesser.

Oh, btw... necros with water snares are hot!

The more correct assessment after last update would be, necros in PvP do not exist.

i don't think there'll be too many more spike teams in HA or GvG with a ton of spirits anymore, but there will forever be necros dominating RA/AB with some quite punishing builds. (Psychic Distraction, anyone? so much fun.)

P.S. sarcasm detector was off on this one, i am taking it seriously because a lot more people that i know are thinking that necs are dead w/o SR from spirits.

Necromancers are dead in high-level PvP without Soul Reaping from spirits.

The Reaper's Mark necromancer was nerfed into oblivion by A-net taking a piss on Reaper's Mark's recharge twice, then screwing over Signet of Humility's casting time while at the same time sucking up some more to mesmers with FC affecting signets. Thus one of the last GvG builds magically disappeared. DD spells from the elementalist and mesmer lines have been buffed to the point where it breaks the balance between caster classes, while also allowing Burning to effect spirits. The spirit nerfs have made the N/Rt healers unviable. Call them gimmick if you want, at least they gave N an option to actually play HA.

Oh, yes, necromancers can still play in the RA and AB sandboxes...

I think the subject was secondary classes, not 'cry me a river.'

My suggestion is simple;

Hit the books, or use an *UP TO DATE* character builder accessory to play around with new and unique builds that you like and do whatever you want.
You might even have fun with a ranger secondary if you find something that'd been long overlooked. (or newly created with the mighty nerf//buff stick.)

The most popular favourites are currently /D/A/Mo/Me
This is fine. Try them all, pick what you enjoy. If you only enjoy winning; pick that one then.

You have 200 attribute points, 8 skill slots and 9 possible secondary professions. Go CRAZY.

Necromancers really haven't had a place in any sort of balanced GvG build since Factions was released. They've either been in hex overload builds, or as death guys in thumper pressure, but that's the extent of it.
