What is the most pathetic scamming attempt that you encountered?

LoL. Where do all these idiots come from?

a freind was telling me, that last x-mas event, a guy tried to sell him those frozen globs of ecto at normal ecto price. when he mentioned to the guy that they r not real ecto, the guy replies saying they will "thaw out" if he takes them into sorrows furnace. friend cancels trade window, tells him its a scam, guy logs out, then comes back a short time later on another name, same sale ad.

I was once stupid enough to be scammed 5k with "a secret place" scam near ascalon. I was caught real poor and really dumb. That's not gonna happen again.

Dude there is a real secret place in Ascalon. I can take you there for free.

can't remember any old good ones. other than top guilds charging people to join for like 10 min, then booting them after they get a screenie with the cape.

but it was funny seeing people selling moa eggs for like 2k.<---even this one is kinda old now.

If there had been a report function back then, I'd have used it on this guy. Was kinda funny that someone admitted scamming though...

The seller is offering an item and a price, if person B agree its just a normal trade.

Anet has stated before they don't not enforce market prices, and they will not take any action on trades.

As long as the correct item is sold its a fair trade, if you want to buy it for 100k+ or only 5g is a player enforced and agreed upon price. In the two examples no one was scamming.

Even the Moa dude offering an item that is free to everyone, Locations are free to everyone, and yet 100's still get dorks runs.

I know its hard to understand for the moral elitests, but its true.

Guy was selling a dragon minipet for 50k. I asked to see it, see whether it was kuunavang or bone dragon.

I wanted to make some quick money. So spammed for imperial comendations for 100g each. 1 bloke wanted to sell 5 for 120. A lvl 17 e/me.
Had a change of heart showed her to trade 5 for a sup salv kit to sell for 1K (200 each you make). Pff I can't even make 400G on people ^^.

Guy last night when buying my tormented shield. Aparently I was on his friends list from when I first started the game, but I have no clue who he was. Anyway he had only seen the shield from the weapons keeper and wanted to see the animation. Then he tries to pull the Unyielding Aura trick on me. Ok ill play along... I die, I get unyielding aura on me, I drop a tournament token. He picks it up and gets pissed when he realizes what it is and that I'm not a complete moron. I get reported for scamming the guy because I told him (yeah whatever) that I would drop my shield so he could see the animation on his character and that since it was in chat logs that I was harassing a character under false pretenses.

But hey I found a new use for the Tournament tokens. They are gold afterall

I have not seen to many W/mo's successfuly running drolks in a few months its the D/A that can do it with no problem.

I was just standing in LA checkin the party search for anything that catches my eye and out of no were I get 1000000 PM's from every noob and Retart in the GW community thinking im giveing out free ectos and I have thousands to give out. I can tell you that was the worst 10 mins of my GW life I was in complete shock I have 4 friends who I farm ectos with and I dont farm them alot. and I have set friends who buy them. This was just some random ass who decided to make my life hell for that day.
I think I pmed a few thousand people saying ( I DO NOT GIVE ANYTHING AWAY FOR FREE, I HAVE NO ECTOS STOP PMING ME).
Im still trying to grow in my hair were I started to rip it out LOL.

^ that happened to me last night but not nearly as bad. I was just sitting in kaening where this guy comes and opens trade window for no reason. I close it he keeps reopening it. I'm like wtf. He's like free ecto. Then I turn on local chat and see some other dude saying if you open trade get a free ecto and I'm like did you even read the chat. That wasn't even me saying it. <_<

The guy told me you'd dropped high-end greens. Ah the good old days...

Look at the trade spams and laugh.

Once in Pre I was standing in some town (don't remember which) and some guy was spamming that he would by dyes for 50g each. So I told everyone there not to sell any dies until post, and the guy starts yelling at me about ruining his sales. Apparently he added me to his friends list and kept spamming me for the next week. Sadly, I didn't know about the ignore list back then.
