i was just watching south park last night and their was a really funny episode on world of warcraft and i was just thinking maybe gw can do the same thing but not on southpark maybe another show like family guy or the simpsons it would probably a funny episode and it will help promote the game to alotof viewers if the show makes the game look cool.
i would really love to see this game be featured in an episode of any funny show.

Yeah because Anet has control over southpark and family guy.

Besides just because WoW did it doesnt mean everyone else has to. Its pretty much always better value for money to advertise in a gaming mag, gaming sites etc. Simply because your going to be hitting your target audience pretty much everytime.

Family Guy and The Simpsons lack the shock value of South Park. And if you're looking for an advertisement rather than a piss-take, gaming magazines, as Isileth said, is your best bet.

Yes but that whole episode was making fun of wow. All the references to the extreme "grind" were all saying that people who play wow have no life.

South Park asked WoW, WoW didn't ask South Park.

It's a very funny episode. But you'd need to talk to South Park about that. Seriously, most celebrities know they've made it when South Park makes fun of them. It's somewhat of an honour...

Or just simply that Trey Parker and/or Matt Stone think they are pieces of shit and just had to make fun of them.

QFT. Nothing a.net can do about it.

Of course, but it's an honour that someone thinks you are SO shit that they make an episode out of you. It's like that Oscar Wilde quote..."The only thing than being talked about, is not being talked about."

Of course if any cartoon was to use GW in their show then everyone would just say "they already did that on South Park".

that'd be bad.

While I enjoy GW very much, it has nowhere near the infamy or recognition of WoW, and thus most people would say "what's that" and change the channel...

A GW cartoon using a style like the Boondocks would look pretty cool. I really can't think of anything spectacular, though.

I just have to ask, why are all your ideas based on what has already been done on or in conjunction with WoW?

Anyhoo, back on topic -

It would be entertaining to see a GW reference in those shows. However, it would be completely up to the writers of that show to do so. Arenanet would have very little, if any, say in that decision. And, as others have said, GW doesn't have the notoriety to be recognized by a lot of people.

Though, I honestly admit, I wouldn't mind an inside joke or two on the Simpsons from Comic Book Guy.
