"Rodgort is a creature mentioned in the skills Mark of Rodgort and Rodgort's Invocation; two Elementalist Fire Magic spells. The artwork of the latter skill's icon suggests that Rodgort is some sort of Dragon. Also note that "Rodgort" is "Trogdor" backwards, short for "Trogdor the Burninator" - a well-known fire-breathing dragon-man from the Homestar Runner cartoons. Additionally, Rodgort was once the name of the Elementalist primary profession trainer, met in the first quest in pre-searing Ascalon (similarly, the necromancer trainer Verata grew to infamy by post-searing). However, his name was at some point changed for unknown reasons." - http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Rodgort
Okay, thats just so everyone is on a familiar basis with what I'm about to discuss. While toying with a fire ele the other day in RA I thought about these skills, especially since I had just read a few articles about GW2 and how "dragons" seem to be the new antagonists. So.. Rodgort? Well hes been around since Prophecies, and if he were a real dragon he'd sure as hell be a fiery one. Do you all think Rodgort has potential to make an appearance in GW2? and how so?

Maybe he's one of the ancient dragons?
Or maybe HE IS Glint's father.(seeing that Glint is concidred a baby next to the Ancient Dragons)

Mortal Amongst Mere Gods
Maybe, but it's a little out there. Out on a limb, more accurately.
It's a possibility, but I don't think so.

i dont think he has any chance. hes been around since prophecies way before they were even thinking of GW2 and these dragon things. Its like saying verata will make a comeback cause he has his name in a couple skills
plus they made the connection with trogdor b/c its a well known thing

Ah, but Verata has actually appeared. We know he's just a human necromancer. In Rodgort's case, however, all we have is a name attached to a couple of skills - it's possible that he/she/it is something ancient.
I don't think he'd be one of the primordial dragons, however - the impression I get is that mortals have completely forgotten the ancient dragons and weren't able to use magic (if they even existed) when the ancient dragons were last awake. It's possible that the name managed to survive, but more likely the name comes from a more contemporary source.

Onarik Amrak
Even if he is just a minor reference, it doesn't mean they can't turn him into something bigger.

Perhaps Rodgort is a good dragon, like Puff.
Seriously though, there's no reason why he couldn't be a good dragon (or why there can't be good dragons for that matter.) Perhaps the reason why he has two spells named after him is becuase he was one of the creatures that convinced the gods to let the humans do their dirty wor... give humans the gift of magic.
And thus he might also be Glints father and explain why Glint is so helpful, even after you try to kill her babies.
