The Undead Horde (HM farming help)
MercenaryKnight
I want to do the farm for undead horse with me and my gf. We both have access to all heroes and were wondering how we should set up to go through this quest repeatedly? Maybe a life bonder and then just a bunch of smite type monks and what not?
Any advice for a solid team build for it?

If you have a 55 monk you could probably kill alot, and take a balthazaar dervish with heart of holy flame or something similar to that.
Xue Fang
600 w/ spirit shackles and smite
?

Moloch Vein
It does not work. These enemies do not drop any loot whatsoever.
MercenaryKnight
How do they not drop any loot? Henchman/ heroes took them all from you? I did 1 nm run of it and they dropped white items just fine for me. Just need a good team build for hm.

Can't you 55 it? Or 600/smite?
Nimrod EX
you and your girlfriend play guildwars together? where did you pick up that girl?

and yes i think 55 can do it In my guild there are two marriages, in both cases husband and wife play together. And my leader's aunt, brother AND father play...
But anyway, 600/smite is the best way to kill an army of undeads. I tried to do it with D/Mo, but it was very hard to do...

Same thing happened to me..I went to farm there with my ele and not one thing dropped so I never went back..maybe it changed?

That quest was nerfed a long , long time ago. It was an easy way of obtaining Sephis Axes.
They nerfed it so nothing dropps from the quest monsters.

i tried farming this with a 55 monk last night, standard Mo/D SoA Regen build
and not one drop. I came to the conclusion that its a waste of time. Dont bother.

This sounds like typical Anet logics: on the one hand, they nerf this innocent little quest so dreadfully that it doesn't seem to yield any more drops at all, on the other hand, they start throwing out Sephis Axes, Dead Bows, Colossal Scimitars and even Elemental Swords to anybody who is able to use a simple cookie-cutter build.
Does that make any sense at all?

I tried this with my derv a few months ago, no luck surviving
and I completed it with my monk years before HM arrived
I'd think the best you could get are rare tyrian sephis axes and dead bows which at best are worth very little; like farming gates of kryta but much fewer enemies

My main reason is material farming because it's fairly easy enemies, easily repeatable and the monsters aren't that huge groups/ hard. So I was mainly hoping for a good team build to work on getting lots of materials.
I just don't know how much I could do since I would pretty much just assume a bunch of smiter monks.

Well, if material farming is what you want to do, why does it have to be this specific quest?
Just about any solo/duo HM farm will give you plenty of materials. Try the Undead outside Bergen, Minos outside Icetooth Cave, Stone Elementals outside Sardelac or even Hydras and Griffons in the desert: the output of materials should be abundant, especially if you don't take any heroes but solo or duo the mobs.

Just that the undead can constantly spawn and they all come to one area. They also seem easier then going through an entire zone finding all the undead.

In that case: Gates of Kryta mission would be a place for you to try I guess.
Kill the first band of undead mesmers/rangers who chase the peasants, then turn left towards Oink (taking him along as an extra tank or not), run left again past the house and down the slope - and you will meet more 'undead hordes' than you could dream of.
Take along 4 monk heroes with the following build:
[skill]Reversal of Damage[/skill][skill]Word of Censure[/skill][skill]Bane Signet[/skill][skill]Banish[/skill][skill]Symbol of Wrath[/skill][skill]Smite Condition[/skill][skill]Smite Hex[/skill][skill]Healing Touch[/skill]
I know that this build works wonders on the undead in Dalessio Seaboard HM, so why not here as well?
Haven't been there myself in ages, but I remember this run to produce really really many undead. So you may have to fit a Castigation Signet or Power Drain into the smiter build. Also, not killing that first chasing mob of mesmers/rangers will considerably diminish the amount of undead you meet behind the house, just in case those should get too many to deal with.
Happy hunting

Hi there if you want to kill undead just use std 600 / smite monk build with your gf, its good fun and sooo easy. As said do bergen or gates of kryta or fanhur first city or my fav catherdral of flames get anywhere between 10-30 gold drops norm on that run. Once your use to it you could do uw, fow (run past monk or use e denial) well in fact ptretty much anywhere we do most of the hard mode dungeons with duo monk, some a little trickeier than others but you can norm get round with swapping a skill or two. The constant mes spawn in uw on the plains (i think that is name) is also fun in hard mode then kill the dryders and blackfires etc some good drops and lots of ecto.
