I'm just curious to see how everyone does at making money. Please post your time played (type /age ingame) and how much cash you have. Don't make anything up

Me
Played: 3 months
Loot: 5 full sets of elite armor, stone gauntlets and a few bandanas, perfect r9 dwarven axe, destroyer scythe and soul reaping staff, and 500k cash + 24 ectos. (I'm guessing if I sell everything not listed here I could end up with 200k more :P)
How made: Chest running, farming, and more farming and chest running. (Sometimes I merchant, but I usually fail.)

Farming Underworld, that's how I got most of my stuff, probably farmed 1,500 Ectos or so now, lol, and of course doing the average subsidiary stuff, soloing/missions/vanquishing.

God that makes me realize how bored I am of this game.

made almost all of my hard earned money by playing a lot, and selling everything, keeping only what i needed or really wanted for my main characters.

after i made about 400k, i bought some rare minis, and now i have pretty much anything you could want as a warrior or assassain in the game....

only thing i dont have...

a req8 or 7 max fellblade.... one day.... one day...

Not as effective as I am at spending it. I mostly just play the game, and I'm able to fully equip new characters pretty much whenever I want - though when I made 3 at once I had to stagger their progress. Regular play for 1.5 years has allowed me to get UAS and Vabbian armor on my monk.

29 months. Currently at 50k in storage (lol =_=).

Armor:
4 sets of FoW (necro, para, dervish, monk) and 25 other elite/15k sets on my characters (necro only has 7, excluding his FoW). Have some side stuff like Dread mask on necro, glasses on necro and ranger, Deldrimor coat on ranger.

Weapons:
Nothing extraordinary, but I really love them... req10 Legendary sword and req13 Gothic sword, both caster modded, shared by monk and necro; Gloom shields on necro and warrior; Aureate aegis on rit, ele, paragon, monk; req9 Shadow axe caster modded; req9 Draconic and Greater Guardian spears that I need to mod; req10 inscribable fellblade modded for my monk; req10 Greater Sage Blade modded for my rit... higher req. weaponry for my warrior (req12 15^50 chaos axe, req11 15^50 oni blade) and my ranger (req12 +5e skull longbow, req9 15^50 skull recurve, req9 Ironwing Flat)

Farmed DoA intensively for a couple weeks, got 2 sets of FoW armors in a bit over a month; trying to recover from second set, lost will to farm regularly.

Currently working on titles for my necro, finding uses for my assassin, and getting my mesmer further into Prophecies and Nightfall. Also helping husband in GW.

So in general I guess I'm effective... when I want to. Otherwise I don't really care as long as I have some kinda leeway into it. 50k's enough for my current expenses, when I'll need to farm I will. Few days probably, some low-end farms (Halcyon Job to gain enough cloth for my assassin's next set, and some extra cash while I'm at it).

I have been playing since August 2005, and I have ten level-20 characters with max weapons, each holding 50K (500K), and with a total of 26 sets of max armor (150-200K + materials). I have purchased and completely outfitted my guild hall (~20K + 480K) and have given 100K to each of three guild members (300K). My storage is holding the rest of my gold (~700K), common materials up the ass, and a respectable collection of rare materials.

After two years of playing normal PvE, three months of green farming doubled my liquid assets. After acquiring and outfitting all 250 heroes across my characters, I might go silly and get my first set of 15K armor.

Well my progress was pretty long... I've started by farming really low-end stuff, usually with henchies since I wanted more loot (was way back... before the AoE nerfs). Now that I had some cash, I could afford skills, and eventually armor, runes, and slightly better equipment. Eventually started to farm SF after taking a long break, made cash to sustain another character and get better armor for both chars.

More characters, more possibilities. Learned more farms, more builds. Moved so solo builds for a while. Then you realize that the cash you made and just used to buy stuff, you can make back rather quickly. Then you have a desire to aim higher, and higher... find better farms, afford better stuff, realize it won't be enough, find better farms... since and repeat.

That's how I did it.

Done various farms in the past, but I farm Tombs and UW occasionally, and Elemental Swords (sell them) and repeat

The last time I farmed was Turai with my rt/r.
Then came "the pve balance".

I play the game - and I am broke most of the time.
But after having reached tier 5 in Lucky and KNOWING I'll never get to max - I really don't care that much about it. It's not sweet - but that finally gives me time to play through REmake and RE0 on my Cube. Plus I SOOOO need to get Killer7.

I was crap, 16 months, and watching money drain fast. Until I decided to dump my money on my boyfriends' character so I wouldn't spend it.

I was able to make 100k in three days, which I'm happy with as I don't farm for long hours, and don't farm the most fantastic places.

Kind of a shame I got into a farming after loot scaling. x(

I used to be pretty persistent when it came to making dough. These days, however, I barely have any. Doesn't help that farming does suck more these days. I usually have at least 50k or so in my storage.

right now, if you count it all together i have around 1.4 mil in gold and around 50 or 60 ecto , and around 100 shards across 2 accounts (mine and my wifes) (cant log in right now stupid update is downloading) i made almost all my gold in the DOA moving titan gems between euro and american districts, they were 20-30k cheaper in euro than america so i gathered up as much money from my guildies as i could and we moved em back and forth through the guild hall, probly cleared 2 mil in gold in profit all told for me, and i probly about the same for my guildies. i bought 15k armor for all my primary toons, lots of weapons for em, so i spent allot too.

At the moment I have around 250k in storage. One set of FoW armour and about 13 sets of elite armour over 7 characters.

I make most of my money my just playing the game a lot. lots of HM, and gold from rep books in EotN. I used to never have more than 20k until about a year ago when I started learning how to not spend money every time I got it, and to ID even white drops. These days, most of the money I spend goes on ID kits but they always make me more money. I eventually plan to blow all my funds on sweets at the Canthan New Year event to get my sweet tooth title.

Im really lazy at farming, but then i got a dead sword when they werent the most common sword in the game and had some money, from there got to where i am now, about 500K a mini oni, a bit of fow and some "rare" weapons (well one :P). Dunno how much of my game time i spend trading... But i honeslty go 3 minites of farming then stop xD.

After 1.5 years, ive got a set of FoW some elite armors, 900k in storage and 300 ecto's, also got a few nice caster weapons, and tormented shield. Most of this was made either during when DoA was new, or in the past few weeks, when ive being trading a bit.

I made most all of my money just playing, only farming I ever do is the minotars and that probable accounts for a most 100K.

Note* It took me from the pre-release of Prophicies untill the release of Factions to earn enough for my FoW, I can make that same amount of money now in about 1month.

Full storage of weapons and I do mean all tabs and 1 character slot. All rare skins with max stats for each respective skin. I usually have a set 4 for each skin of 15^50 and 15>stance. Then for each dmg mod 20/20 sundering, vamp, zealous, and an elemental dmg. All have 30 hp mods.

Eternal shield, echovald, and skeleton shield. All are 9 str req. 4 sets of each with 10 slashing, 10 fire, blind reduction, and cripple reduction.

4 sets of 15k armor for my war. 3 sets of 15k for my monk. 3 sets of 15k armor for my ranger.

I made all my money in prophecies running people and before the prot bond nerf. Ah, they days when you could make 400-500k a day. I only play pvp now and do not make money anymore. I've already bought everything I could want in the game.

In four months, I've probably earned a net-worth of something like... 600k. Two full 15k sets, about 50e+80s (saving for an obby suit of course), a couple mid-end minis, and about 6 black dyes (that I found).

Lol that's the first thing that came to my mind as well, but, as a scam by the OP to somehow get our IP's and then hack our own accounts when he saw the ones with big bucks. lol I have nothing I am the worst at making money of everyone in the entire game. Why I'm lucky to have 20 plat at once at a given moment and you can bet I'm looking for a place to spend it when I do. I just have junk for gear though mostly collectors armor and weapons/items. Nothing anyone would wanna hack and get.

millions and millions of gold, all gone I don't know where. Not a large figure compared to a lot of hardcore traders but I must have made easily 10m+ over the past 2 years, with only a couple months really trading, and half a year not playing GW. After I had accumulated everything I wanted for my main character I sat around with an extra 4-5mil and didn't do anything at all except play the game leisurely.

Been playing for 15 months and I have 55k in storage. I had alot more but spent money on elite tomes and stuff for guildies.

Unlike alot of people here I don't have any prestige armor or fancy weapons. I'm saving that for when I don't have anything left to do in the game. Each toon will get 1 set of prestige armor at the very least. I'm getting FoW armor for my Mesmer and Primeval armor for my Warrior for sure. I find most prestige armor to be ugly but I want stuff to put in each HoM. For now, I have cheap max armor and whatever weapon I think is best. I like making my own weapons because greens aren't changeable and most golds suck. It costs an arm and a leg to craft inscribable weapons and its annoying farming collector items but I like it more than spending 100k on a weapon that looks cool.

That being said, I do have a few nice things. My fav is a Chaos Axe I got in a trade recently. When I equipped it it automatically matched my armor so I didn't even have to dye it.

Another good thing I have is a Shadow Shield. It has +10 armor vs Skeletons, which is hilarious because I got it from a chest in FoW. It also has -5 damage(20% chance). All my other "good" stuff are greens that everyone and their mom has. Like Chkkr's Flatbow and Ungues of The Forgotten.

hahaha, compare to you lots, I am not good at making money in the game at all, I play and enjoy the game alot, all of my characters are wearing 1.5k Dock Armor, except the ele, I got her the Norn armor couple of days ago, its getting ridiculously cold so had too... and i have no money left ... beside a few Ks in each characters.

Hold the horses... i have alot of crafting materials, if that counts, lol cos i hardly ever use them. and they are stacking up... i usually give them to guildies.

40k is quite alot for me as i won't farm for the sake of it. If i need something, i'll farm for it, if i have money, i'll spend it.. otherwise what's the point in having it at all?

Throughout my whole time of playing I estimate that I have accumulated around 4 mil in plats. Over last June-August I made close to 900k-1 mil, I tend to make most of my money during summer.

All my wealth is now in the form of mostly armors and some weapons. I have 15k armor for each of my 8 PvE characters and 9 sets of 15K for my main

I've been playing for over 2 years, but have managed to spend money constantly, and have a few L20 chars with max armour, decent weapons and runes, but tbh i spend all my time with my main necro since EOTN, so he's getting all the attention:

2 sets of 15k (one dyed white), Asuran glasses, sup runes, destroyer staff, greens for heroes i use a lot, all elites capped (that was expensive).

I don't have many rare weapons, i had a morning star axe, but it was rubbish, so merchant'd it (Dmg 19% under 50%, no inscription), and other than a smattering of greens of varying use, not much else.

I have a number of minipets such as the ceratadon, destroyer, pig, asura, gray giant etc, but they're promo ones not uber-rare birthday ones, the rarest "normal" pet i have is a burning titan.

I'm planning on eventually getting more destroyer weapons to fill the monument, after filling my minipet stand with the cheapest 20 i can get tbh.

I can't be arsed to stand around trading with people, i'd rather be running around killing stuff/vanquishing. My GF is a damn good merchant, she makes a fair bit, about 40-50k in a couple of day's casual play, trading mundane stuff like dyes, materials and pets getting marginal profits here and there, but it all adds up.

Over 2 1/2 years.

Nine characters each with at least one full set of elite armor. Several extra sets on Rit for HoM. All characters have superior vigor and all other needed runes.

All heroes with needed runes and insignia.

No special weapons purchased. All (character and hero) have greens that dropped or collector weapons.

Two characters with Legendary Skillhunter (cost about 200K each for cap sigs).

Purchased several NPC's for guild hall.

Have given a lot of deserving new guild members gold for first set of Drok's armor.

Currently have 400K cash plus large stash of crafting materials in vaults.

I used to farm ettins when it was worthwhile. Got most of my elite armor and superior runes that way. Now I just play the game and find that my gold stays up pretty well in spite of buying armor sets for HoM.
