The title says it all. Which, out of all NPCS, is your favorite and why?
I'd have to toss up between Rurik and Pyre.
Pyre is brilliant, he's focused, a great leader, tactical, knows how to get things done, he doesn't leave loose ends (e.g. kills his prisoners 'cos they might rebel one day) and he does see a brighter future for the Charr. He's also trustworthy and doesn't hate humans in an irrational way. He knows what the Charr are capable of and is proud of it. He's also got some of the best lines in EOTN. the way that Gwen always opposes him is very annoying when he actually respects her for her power and is happy to let her deal with his prisoners.
and Rurik. Despite many people hating him you've got to agree that he is really the only true hero in Prophecies. He sacrifices his life for his people and even leaves his homeland to find a better life for them. Him and Pyre are actually quite similar, although I'm sure he'd hate to hear it. They're both focused leaders with a utopian vision of the future for their people and he knows how to act as a symbol for hope and victory in tough times.
What would have happened in prophecies had Rurik lived into Kryta? Probably we would have stayed to help the White Mantle fight the undead and the mursatt would have never been wiped out, the titans never unleashed and all in all everything would have been more peaceful.

Vael claims that Vael isn't his real name, Captain Langmar confirms his name as "Nathanael", which he in turn denies as an alias to the Ebon Vanguard. His knowledge of the player's deeds, along with his visual similarity, has led some players to suspect that he is actually Captain Osric from the Prophecies campaign. He also claims to have been there when Prince Rurik died, and had to announce his death to King Adelbern, and Osric has been known to be a close friend of Rurik. Vael also claims to be a veteran of the Tengu Wars in Cantha and has been to Vabbi, placing him on three different continents. |
I cannot pick one, cos I like them all, including the evil ones and all the monsters, except afflicted ritualist, yuck!
wow, I have to come back to this one, its long .... they each have their own characteristic. but if i am to pick now, someone to go to war with, I pick Aidan, observe what he says and you know why I pick him.
I would not pick Herta to battle with, you cannot turn your back or trust her with you life, you'll die, because she'll be checking on her reflection in the water or secretly bringing a mirror, while you get clobber by monsters, she'd be complaining that Komir had trick her into joining the war ...
The three heros that I really really like are Olias, Master of Whisper and Livia... they have the best quotes.
"Let me whisper my name to you as you die..."
