Curious as to lagging and DCing at the moment...
MrSlayer
Hey
As of the moment (around 4pm GMT) I have a few alliance members from the US suffering HORRIBLE lag, of 10k+ pings. I spawned into Umbral to find a few people just got disconnected. Seems like a small handful, but just wondering if anyone else is having this problem?

Last night I had a really odd lag spike around 9 PM EST... but only that one, and someone from the alliance also said he had lag, I believe.
Later on around 9:40 I froze up as well, and got back with like 25k ping... is Anet having a meltdown? o.o
And good morning, Jo.

Yeah this seems universal. People seem to think Anet are playing around with bonus-pack files?

My husband and I are lagging something hellish (we're on euro servers), our american guildies are also experiencing the same lag spikes.
My "ping monitor" is like watching traffic lights on speed!

5 people I know including me are suffering from disconnects and insane lag. Could it be only people from europe have it?

By the way, that was me. Still experiencing it - not at the very moment, but I was roaming around a random GH and had up to 23k ping (I was with MrSlayer and another alliance member which I CAN'T spell the forum name correctly to save my life =____=).
I almost lagged out in Slaver's Exile (was doing Thommis and Rand), was explicitly told to remove viruses from my computer >_>. Someone lagged out and came back during the run too.
I switch between American and Euro regularly, was in American last night, in Euro this morning. Both had lags.

11:10-11:15 am est My ping is between 150 and 1100+.. average ping of 1100+ and slight warping
Besides, don't you all know by now that it's all of our connections fault and not anets' servers? I mean, how many times have you told anet support that they are having lag issues for them to tell you it's your connection and to deny anything wrong with their servers. Then a few days later for them to do some repair on their servers, yet it's still your connection... come on...seriously guys. It all our faults!! (Yes I hate anet tech support cause of this)

Anyways, my IMs are working fine, my browser is working fine, vent is working fine. It's what I usually run along with GW and my average ping is between 150-300, which is completely normal. But when you have people in UK, Canada and USA saying that they're disconnecting and having mass lag spikes ONLY ON GW, I wouldn't blame it on their connection.

"Well, just lost survivor at 1,300,684 xp...due to lag."
Aw, man, that really sucks big time. I don't see why Anet can't look at a person's account log, if one sends them a report ticket, and reverse a death if the log legitimately shows it was due to lag. Or do the logs not include info on lag/ping/connection?
I'm terrified of the same thing happening to me now that I'm getting close to that point.
In the recent thread about lag issues, many people claimed it wasn't due to Anet's servers but to internet traffic in general, one's ISP, the number of hops to Anet's servers, etc. I, for one, don't totally buy that argument.
I live about 120 miles from Anet's servers in Los Angeles and, near as I can deduce from traceroute, they're only 4 hops away.
This week-end was a nightmare; starting with the special event on Thursday, it just kept getting worse over the next fout days until, by Sunday afternoon, if not actually unplayable, it was definitely not a situation where I was going to risk working on my survivor. And I even had Sat and Sun off for a change, and had been looking forward to putting in some extra time on that char. By early Monday morning, things seemed to be pretty much back to normal.
Anet says they recently passed 4.5 million copies sold so that would indicate there are a greater number of new people playing. Sounds to me like the additional players are putting a strain on the servers' capacity. Would make sense for Anet to invest in a couple new racks of blades to lighten to load.

I had nasty Lag earlier while farming Foundry. I was the tank so Lag made death inevitible. I rarely ever get lag so I'm assuming, if others are getting it, that it's something closer to A.Net's side.
Another German routing issue?

ive also seen some err007 spammin goin on...
but in general the amount of dc's lately is becoming more commonplace. Could be considered a problem if it gets any worse

This is kinda funny, because I was in about an hour/hour and a half ago, and lagged to kingdom come. Now, before you're quick to pick apart the situation, take all this into consideration.
I'm on dialup (but not for much longer).
I was on last night, no lag whatsoever.
My FPS is usually low due to hardware (12-17 range).
My ping is usually 200-400ms (again, I blame hardware).
Seems to indicate trouble, right? Wrong. Last night - ran smoothly, without a hitch. Log in this morning, my FPS is in the 15-18 range (pretty good, all things considered). My ping indicator a solid yellow or red most of the time. Ping around 450-480ms. Average ping at one point over 3,600ms. Lines I typed in Guild and Alliance chat took forever to show up. My character I was on at the time would charge forward (due to "Charge!"?) but my hands were not on the keyboard. When I went to turn her to go around a corner, she would overturn considerably. I finally got fed up and logged.
I don't know what's going on, but I'd sure love to!

Try to tell them that the game is lagging, they try to say it's my connection. I've went through what they wanted me to do... several times in the same ticket because the person didn't want to scroll down to read the report I was giving back to them from their program that they asked me to download. Then threaten to close my ticket because I'm not doing what they said. Must be the tech help level 2 guys who know how to scroll down. Then they say my system and connection is fine. It might have been an internet hicup.... yeah for days on end... some hicup. Then a few days later, they shut down their servers to do emergy repairs that was causing lag. Anyways I can probably write a small novel on them, but back to the subject

FPS above 40 (geforce8500gt 512 megs of ram on it)
2.4 processor, 1.5 gigs of ram
My ping is anywhere between 75 and 300 on any given day.
Yet I can get lag spikes, dc, rubber banding, skills not work, ect you name it I've had it. I have other guild members with the same, if not better, system than I have and they lag just as bad.
I really don't think it's anyones pc/connection that is the problem. FPS would be your graphics card, but not the lag and err=7. It is and always has been the anet servers.
If they can't fix their lag issues for gw1, what makes you think they can fix it for gw2.
HayesA
I have been experiencing really BAD lag this past month. Every so often 14k MS pings, bad rubber banding, horrible freeze ups, and the occasional DC. It's nto my network either. I have checked, double checked, triple checked, quaduple checked my router/modem/switch settings now.
But I seriously think it's a bad hub somewhere. Did a trace route, and my connection started to hang up somewhere around Florida. Dunno why it's going to Florida, though.
Hey Gaile, you guys don't house the East Coast servers in Florida do you?

Ya I got Err7 first the first time in along time this morning. Nothing as bad as losing survivor happened though.

Come one, Legendary Survivor is a joke, probably one of the easiest titles to max.

I can't even remember the last time I lagged or disconnected... until last night, I disconnected 3-4 times

I tried to log in about an hour to see if the situation had improved. Walked around in town, everything was fine. Went outside. Severe server lag city. Logged right out shortly thereafter. I don't know what's going on but it really needs to be fixed. Should have cable internet by a week from thursday. I'd love the game to be lag-free by then.

I have been experiencing lag.. my ping varies from 100ms to 4k ms in a matter of seconds and its not just me.. a few of my friend are also lagging a lot and their ping is all over the place.

I've had about four alliance battles where majority of the Luxons were frozen for at least 2 minutes at the start while the Kurzicks got a hefty headstart. By the time it unfroze, was a tad late to catch up. The weird thing is if a big portion of the Luxons were lagging, why not the Kurzicks?
Kusandaa
Yeah, whenever I'm in an outpost I don't lag as much. As soon as I exit, I'm done for. I lagged my way through Vloxen Excavation and into Alcazia Tangle, then we decided to give up. I'm in my GH right now, not lagging at all. Quite frustrating since I barely lag usually.
pamelf
I'm guessing it has something to do with the impending BMP. Lag spikes always seem to happen right before new content...

was laggin alot 3 hours ago and i couldnt move and when lagg ended im dead

I've been having bag lag for the past week, or I'll even randomly get an err7 with no reconnect. Got ~3 err7's and one reconnect popped up and it didn't work and still continued to get err7's every 5 minutes until I just logged off for the day. I know it's not my ISP because everything else works just fine. Wouldn't even mind half the lag if I could actually use the reconnect feature that's supposed to work...

If it wasn't lagging, it wouldn't be Guild Wars. It's a feature, not a bug!

One of my teammates didn't get on until half-way through the match. No idea if lag, or he just had a slow connection.
