I play just about every type of class, but I like my controls setup different for certain classes. I find it a hassle to go and change all these keys just to play a class comfortably. I think controls templates would be great.

I cant see it being anything beyond the capabilities of Anet to incorporate.

Well if you feel that you can benefit from this then why not take it a step further an make it shareable.

i think thwese template codes need also to become easier ..

why has it to be something stupid big stuff like:

.lnj-.xbnmc.-bhmvc-.h654xvcx_VX;G_:L

oO I find such codes stupid .. wtf should remembers such codes .. ???
Such codes need ever to be written on paper...because they are impossible to remember

Very often used and well known builds should receive short codes, like

123456 for example the actual most used wel known Group Healer Monk Build

and so on

Codes aren't meant to be remembered. They're stored in a hard drive txt file, so what does it matter to you?

Make it a lot easier for some things. If there were interface templates too, that would be very useful to me.

Do you have any idea how codes for templates are generated?

The template code needs to know quite a lot of different things. What's the primary, what's the secondary, what are all the attribute points. Then it has all the skills. All skills have a predetermined number. Then, to make sure the code isn't about 1000 characters long, it's changed to a numeric system with base number 64.

It cannot possibly be done in another way. Every template code is decoded using these rules. It's like saying "I think that my car has to have number plate xx-1234-xx", while that number plate isn't legally registered.

Besides, there is no standard healer build.

Also, this is entirely off-topic.

I would love template codes for screen-setups and key configs. That would be awesome.

I used to have my right-alt do:
Show Others
&& Show Targets
&& Call Targets
My controls got reset to default and the ability to put multiple functions under 1 button is no longer available.
I want that trick back mainly, it allowed me to use the same control setup for all my professions.
Without that, target selecting is pretty annoying, I haven't played my rit yet, but I fear spirit stacks will lead to some profane shouting.

But if I would have been able to save my key config, I would have been able to reset to ...... instead of having too set all the controls manually after I got reset to default.
I see the benefit in it so /Signed

Also, skill templates do remember your secondary, but don't do anything with it, they just change your secondary if there are skills from another profession in the skill set.
So actually they are storing partially redundant data.

And Phoenix, why do you want to remember your template code? I just remember what skills I use, as they are a helluva lot easier to remember.
Also when needed I mail myself the text files for my templates, but as I gave up playing GW on my laptop because of loading times, I no longer need to synchronize my templates between PC's and even then moving 8 skills is often easier than getting a .txt file onto and off an USB stick.
