Sword Build From An Axe User
tebuddy
I created this build because I was interested in switching over from axes for general PvE use. Suggestions are appreciated.
I own prophecies and nightfall.
I do not own factions, so do not suggest skills such as [skill]Dragon Slash[/skill] or [skill]Sun And Moon Slash[/skill]
Attributes:
Strength: 2 + 1 + 1
Swordmanship: 12 + 2
Tactics : 12 + 1
[skill]Soldier's Strike[/skill][skill]Crippling Slash[/skill][skill]Gash[/skill][skill]Galrath Slash[/skill][skill]Flail[/skill][skill]Enraging Charge[/skill][skill]"For Great Justice!"[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Seems to have decent dps:

pretty standard stuff
you can probably go without the soldier's strike though
I'd replace it with wild blow or watch yourself personally
or you could go w/e for a conjure

Soldiers Strike out, utility/selfheal in. Otherwise you've hit the nail right on the head.

Actually... Given the skills available, and your rune/equipment spread...
I'd go...
8+1+1 Strength (3 adrenaline breakpoint on Charge, longer Flail)
12+2 Swordsmanship
10+1 Tactics
Then... in difference to what ^^^ they say, it isn't so clear-cut whether Soldier's Strike or Galrath Slash is a better attack...
At my suggested spec, Galrath is a +37 damage attack requiring 8 adrenaline - under FGJ!, that'd take about the same time to recycle as Soldier's Strike.
However, at 11 spec, SS deals... +34 damage, and is spammable even when not under FGJ! If you go and replace Galrath Slash with "Watch Yourself!" it becomes unblockable all the time, too.
Of course, using both is fine - I just prefer having utility skills like "Watch Yourself!" or Savage Slash on a warrior bar.

The build looks solid.
Depending on your party you may drop the res signet for either a self heal or [skill]Final Thrust[/skill] so you have a nice spike dmg attack to kill stuff faster.

I would go like this
[skill]Standing Slash[/skill][skill]Silverwing Slash[/skill][skill]Dragon Slash[/skill]you can choose to run a heal or not to since you already know Warrior the rest you do know. This is for fleshies as well as non fleshies.

I personally find that Rage of Ntouka is a fun skill to use.
Strength: 9 + 1 (or 12 + 1) Swordsmanship: 12 + 1 + 3 Tactics: 9 + 1 (or 3 + 1) Basic build is: [skill]Rage of the Ntouka[/skill][skill]Flail[/skill][skill]Enraging Charge[/skill] or [skill]Rush[/skill] Sword skill is (pick 3): [skill]Sever Artery[/skill] or [skill]Barbarous Slice[/skill] Make sure that you don't use Barbarous Slice while using flail if you want to inflict bleeding [skill]Gash[/skill] [skill]Final Thrust[/skill] [skill]Galrath Slash[/skill] Last slot utilities: [skill]Plague Touch[/skill] [skill]Mending Touch[/skill] *edited* Mend Condition was a mistake. Thanks for pointing out [skill]Rending Touch[/skill] [skill]Lion's Comfort[/skill] [skill]Healing Signet[/skill] And of course rez blue.rellik

I guess for the shorter recharge. Mending tough is quite long to recharge.

Not really, tbh.
In a hero/hench group, it's a really marginal skill if you don't suck, and virtually never gets used. I've not touched healsig in PvE for a few months now, and having that extra slot is awesome, especially with all the sweet PvE skills you could be using in that slot instead. PuGs are another matter... But who Pugs anymore? Magikarp

OP: Looking good. Savage Slash is fun I didn't read that part but Factions is the best to have for the sword skills alone.there are places I can't use sever/gash in Proph andf in NF presents the same problem mostly skill the cause bleeding. blue.rellik

Cripslash in PvE is generally redundant.
I suggest another elite besides Sword skills. Without Factions, you can't use Dragon Slash or Quivering Blade. That just leaves you with the impotent Cripslash and the usually sucky Hundred Blades. Maybe Headbutt/Plague Touch will be good. xD MBP
another good addition to cripslash builds is to use /N for necrosis

Before this I had used hundred blades for the longest time, and it seemed to be working really well (hitting 40, 40 in one attack isn't that bad :/ ). It was only when a guildie informed me that only fags use hundred blades that I decided to switch out XD. | Cripslash has been infinitely more useful in my case (PvE). The ability to cause bleeding, and cripple on a foe, and then inflict deep wound without taking up 3 additional makes me use this build on my warrior often. iridescentfyre

If you don't need the Cripple condition (and in PvE, you rarely do), its nothing more than an elite version of Sever Artery that takes more adrenaline. In my opinion its more of a PvP oriented skill. In a perfect world Dragon Slash or Quivering Blade are the best options, but without Factions I guess you should stick with Crip Slash. You're right though, Hundred Blades is a pathetic elite.
Also, why the Strength helm? Get a sword helm with a sword rune, and an axe helm with an axe rune, and put the Minor Strength rune somewhere else Crom The Pale
In hard mode everything kites like crazy so crip slash is a solid elite.
Hundred Blades is one of those skills that has a name that sounds awsome, but performance that falls so very very very short of living up to expectations. ghostlyfenix

They do...but...I dunno. I still feel like its kind of a wasted elite. I've never really felt HM kiting was enough of a big deal to make me not take Dragon Slash. Besides, my Ele heroes usually carry either Deep Freeze or Earthen Shackles anyway.

Basically i've run Cripslash when I feel like using my rits and necros rather than bringing an ele or ranger to snare the kiting casters.
