Alternative builds for heroes
kel77
It seems like every time I ask for a good hero build to do something in a high end PvE area, Sab's build is almost always recommended. I've looked it over and from the way other players talk about it, I can definitely see that it is very powerful. However, I do NOT own NF, so I am left with only heroes from GWEN, and only one of those is a necro. So I was wondering, are there some really good builds for heroes that work well together that I have simply not seen and no one else has payed much attention too? If anyone has some nice builds they would like to share, that would be great. I have Factions, Prophecies, and GWEN, but I do not plan to buy NF for at least a few months, if at all.
Thanks guys,
Kel

You could use any one of the Necro builds from Sab's build and combine it with other builds. The MM has the vague advantage of gaining energy from soul reaping when the minions die, but I'd probably recommend the SS overall.
You could use a restoration/channeling support ritualist, or a boon of creation Rt/N minion master.
A mark of rodgort flame elementalist might be good as well. You wouldn't want to use Searing Flames with just one ele hero, unless you are also running SF on your main character.

A spiritway'ish build isn't the only way to do high end areas...it works well but there's alot more you can use. Primary healing monks, assuming you give them 5e only spells, do just fine....it can replace an N/rt healer. Curse necs suck for damage but are very good at reducing melee damage - he can be replaced by a Warder or Blind ele.....if you do put Blinding flash/surge on an ele, they're pretty decent at spreading it with Epidemic. Heroes are very good at MM bombing though, so I'd use Livia for that. Another way to reduce damage is using an SF ele with a "theyre on fire paragon". And of course the class you play is very important.
EDIT: Alot of those pvxwiki builds are normal pve builds but with a random "hero" tag slapped onto them, so don't expect them to be the best option for use on a hero ....but a few of them are decent.

I do not have SF because it is a NF spell. I'm about to look at those links.

whoops.....just so used to having NF around
In that case, a dual attunement ele spamming Rodgort's invocation might work decently. Or you can use Rodgort's invocation with other spells to keep the burning up.

No problem lol, must players dont seem to realize SF, sig of lost souls, extra heroes , etc. are all nightfall only
Fluffy sheepy
I think you can cap Searing flames In sacnoth valley in eotn.
Not like it will be real effective with Only vekk as a ele hero, but yeah.

You can't cap skills from campaigns you don't own (even if mobs in Eotn are using them). I've tried this with JaggedBones in Jagga Moraine and the skill was greyed

He is quite correct, I tried to cap Dragon Slash(before I bought factions) in EotN from some guy in riven earth and it was greyed out as well.
