yup in pve skills eles got beat to hell, we had good skills then anet thought that they hated eles to much to give them good skills and beat it with a nerk bat.

its a simple fix for both skill ele lord needs to go back up to +2 and intensity needs to last longer thats it really.

What I really don't get is that Intensity got nerfed hard, but Aura of Holy Might for Dervs wasn't even touched...
When you think about it, they both serve the same concept but AoHM is almost fully maintainable (1 second downtime with enchanting mod), gives roughly +50% damage at only rank 5, and counts as an enchantment for the many Derv skills relying on enchants. Meanwhile, Intensity lasts just short of 1/3 of the recharge (WITH an enchanting mod) and only gives +25% damage at rank 10.
I vote for either buffing Intensity or nerfing AoHM to make things more fair. After all, Dervs also have Eternal Aura which is extremely powerful as well...

Intensity would be more worth it if they either raised the time your enchanted, or shorten the recharge time.
Elemental Lord might be best used on a non Elementalist wishing to deal out higher damage? but then again Glyph of Elemental Power is easier to use. You could combine both and it would be like having a Sup Ele Rune on you temporarily, but yeah.... my Elementalist doesn't use it.

They could change Intensity into a hex: "The next X times that foe gets hit with elemental damage, the damage is doubled."
Or: "For x seconds your damaging/elemental spells deal additional damage equal to 50% of your max energy."

On Topic... who cares if ele pve skills suck, all they need is a coupla aoe spells and you're happy [for pve]... you dont need pve skill, coz you already have the greatest aoe dps (apart from ss, possibly)

Intensity doesn't do anything that GoEP or Ebon Battle Standard of Honor don't do better. Even going nec 2nd proff and taking Weaken Armor would have more effect against most foes. And the battle standard/weaken armor helps the rest of your party aswell as yourself.
Short duration, average damage boost, better options for boosting damage available. Not worth taking.

intensity has its uses.
personaly, id never use it in everyday PvE, but back when i used to power level outside droks with Shadow Form, i found if u slap intensity on the front of ur flash farm chain (right before glyph of sac--meteor shower) then u can take ur NM 10 sec build to HM in 11 seconds. then again, the only use for that would be power leveling ppl from r1 survivor to r2/r3. which never took off for me. so yeah

You might be able to combine it with Slivers Armor, since they last about the same time, and seem to recharge at around the same rate.

Well, considering that it was probably nerfed because of secondary ele possibilities (Feast of Corruption, Energy Surge, Cry of Pain, etc.), it would make sense to make the effect proportionate to the level of your energy storage...

i currently use the skill on my shadow form tombs bar, to help boost my sliver to do 40 damage after armour on HM grasps/dryders/riders

If i remember rightly it used to last for 15 secs instead of 10, and it had a 30sec recharge instead of 45. It could basically be kept up for about 60% of the time where as now you're looking at 25%.

The Meth
It would be a pretty good skill if the competition for skill bar space on an ele wasn't so high. Most eles will need 1 or 2 energy management skills, 2 or 3 damage skills, another 2 or 3 utility skills and if possible a res signet. Not worth kicking out one of those for a mild damage increase.

Aura of holy might is an incredible skill, and Spear of Fury and Triple shot are both very, very good at higher levels.
For sunspear track everything but vampirism, intensity and never rampage alone is decent. Necrosis is kinda meh but the rest should be practically stapled to your bar if you run those professions |
