Curious to know if anyone has a history on this armor? Right now with the lack of a good guide (Prima is bringing one out on the 19th), we're stuck with fending for some information on our own.
Has this armor been explained at all during the Beta to have any significance during the Guild Wars?

I don't offhand know the answer to your question... I haven't heard anything about it myself but that's hardly definative.
However, I can't believe you used the words "good guide" and "Prima" together. There's no such thing as a good Prima guide in my experience man. There are a few decent ones, a few passable ones, and a lot of shitty ones. Sorry, just felt like tossing that out there.
As for the armor, it'd be cool if there was some kind of story behind it, but nothing I know of yet.

Good as in terms of information. They usually give a lot of background information on items, locations, etc. The "strategies" as they call them, suck... and for a game like this it's impracticle because it's always changing. Nevertheless... it's still a "good" source for information.
