graphic card error for only 1 character?

Why do I get the message "Guild Wars has encountered an unrecoverable graphics driver error and must terminate" ?

I played guild wars for 2 years now on this same computer and card. And only today I get this message.

The funny thing is, it only gives this message for one character. My other characters work fine.

Another funny thing is that a friend that was in my group today also gets the same message on only one particular character.

It happens because you probably have an integrated graphics card, like me. Basically, because i don't know much about it, our cards are too crappy to support that area that your character is in. So, you probably can't go very far in EOTN or into certain placees in Nightfall. I don't know much, but thi isn't something new. Gl...i got my character out by going to a LAN center.

Nf recieved an increase in graphic quality and there was another increase in GW:EN. Intel chipsets, if that's what you have, have some problems with certain areas that required lots of T&L that isn't necessarily supported by your chipset.

If you don't have an intel chipset, then try deleting your Gw.dat file and downloading a new one. It could be due to some corruption in your .dat file, although this sceneria is unlikely.

Don't go and re dl everything just yet. What's your system spec and graphic card?

With this in mind "unrecoverable graphics driver error" try a clean graphic card driver uninstall and get a fresh new driver from ati/nvidia. Well, unless you're indeed using the onborad card.

i have the same problem, the towns that i have issues with are some vabbi towns, and gadds encampment. however i can sometimes load these areas. you might try playing the game a bit on one char, then switching to your stuck char, this has worked a couple times for me. the game seems to b able to load the areas unless you're loading that area when you first log in. basically, don't leave your char in a questionable area when you log out. i suggest a lan place if you can't get your char out, or go to a friends house maybe.
