I just installed Guild Wars on my Vista and when I went to save a PvX build I couldn't find my folder to save it in! Is there anyway to remake that folder or do I have to reinstall Guild Wars....

Save it inside of Guild wars and GW should remake the folder for you I believe.

If you don't know how just put [name of template;code]

Havn't got vista but my template folder is in the gw folder.
Have you tried saving a template while in the game and watching where it says its saving it ?

Mine is in D:\Games\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills
So I guess the default folder would be C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Templates\Skills

should be in "X:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\guild wars"

Vista installations stick it there for some reason.

For security reasons in Vista the Guild Wars folder that data is saved to (builds, templates, screenshots etc.) is in you My Documents folder.

This makes a lot of sense to me. I wish XP would do it too.

Security reasons?!? No thank you! At the moment I have my OS (XP) on one partition and my games (GW) on another. If something trashes the OS and I have to reinstall/reformat, I don't have to worry about losing my GW stuff (or other saved games etc.)

Yes, I know, Vista probably has something equivalent to the "File and Settings Transfer Wizard" - if your Vista is not so screwed up you can't boot it.
And yes, I know, you can just copy the files from the My Documents folder - if you can find it, and it's not trashed with the OS.

And, yes, I know that if the whole hard drive crashes I would still lose all the GW stuff, but if I was that paranoid I would run GW off my RAID1.

as they said, it's in "X:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\guild wars". This applies to ALL games that right out data in Vista. So for example, crysis save games would be in "X:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\crysis". etc etc etc. It's just how microsoft designed Vista to work.

I'd be curious to know how Vista determines what data should be saved under Documents. Or is ALL saved data redirected from where you want it to where Vista thinks it should be?

Sounds like another good reason to avoid Vista if you ask me.
