And why would Anet want to waste extra bandwidth on this instead of improving their crappy servers.

I haven't used either programs in Gw since prophecies release. I don't need to hear an armchair general screaming into a mic and hearing it in 5.1. they ping the map enough.

no thanks to a voip proggy that i'll have to pay for and never use.

I'm listening to music via winamp 99.9% of the time I play.

no place in the game is hard enough that you need to have vent/ts. the only exception would be people who take gvg and ha way to seriously. let anet work on something worth while, like say, gw2.

I dont see an ingame voice chat coming to gw or gw2 anytime soon certainly not for chat in towns with people you meet.

Voice chat is great for a party or a guild and prob essential in pvp, not that I know that im just guessing.

Trouble at the moment with voice are the great number of voice programs out there.
One would be great but I know of a dozen or more so chances are most parties would find it impossible to use voice without a lot of preplanning.

Best workaround for gw would be for anet to come to an arrangement with one of the voice program companies and make them an official gw voice prog.

Have tried many and all have good and bad points, you need reasonable quality good compatability with all sound systems and low footprint so they dont lag the games up.

Untill then its back to typing and drawing routs and pinging locations on the map.

Would like some of the one click commands I use in the r6 games like raven shield.
So I could order attack retreat etc pressing a key and have the computer voice the command works really well esp if there are a good range of such commands you could use.

I won't be against it, as long it's an affiliated service, like DirectSong.
Just and 'official choice' so people stick with one, and there are ingame controls to choose rooms, but nothing that require Anet to set servers and such.

I also usually have music on, so screw all the 13-year-olds screaming about jews and black people when they lose at PvP. I'll take Nonpoint over that mess any day.

And I thought Teamspeak pretty much WAS the unofficially official service. :P

Countdown spikes in team chat, go, go, go!

Not needed to be added as an in game feature, but vent is very useful, and if you want any real success in those environments you should probably use it

lets put it like this your team A with no vent and relying on draws and pings and typeing.
Im on team B with vent.

Team B rolls Team A in a 15 second battle and laughs because it was such a easy battle.

Team A lost because the caller way typeing the monks were drawing lude or Fku graphics on the compass and everyone was running around with their heads cut off.

Team B won because of COMMUNICATION.

I hope you keep getting in teams with no communication I love the free wins

Although, I don't believe that this should be added (it's just as easy to run two programs), I would like to point out the "This shouldn't be added because I wouldn't use it/ I listen to music, why bother?" argument isn't a very strong one >.>
