One step away. Vanquishing Elonia

Okay, I'm one area away from completely vanquishing elonia, and getting my legendary vanquisher title. I was able to burn through the Poisoned outcrops no problems, the alkali pan was relatively easy, and even the hidden city offered to terrors, but Joko's Domain is giving my necro an incredibly hard time of it.

I'm using the things I learned vanquishing the other areas of the desolation (i.e. no hexes, lots of holy damage, etc...) The problem seems to be that when I have a build specific enough to take down the undead, I get owned by the Shamblings/ Sandstorm mages (which seem to come in much larger groups in here.) I've been going H/H because I can;t seem to find anyone else who wants this area in my alliance. Typically I take A healer hero, a MM bomber, and a paragon support hero with two healer henchies, a tank and a holy hench. If the undead are a problem, I'll shift out the paragon with a dervish holy hero.

I've even tried going ursan myself with 9 in motivation so I can carry a shield, which worked really well in the poisoned outcrops, but isn't cutting it here. Mainly I'm finding that the groups with 2-3 cavaliers and an alcolyte or two is just impossible. The Cavaliers res so fast it's like playing a game of whack-a-mole. It's fine with worms, but the big unwurmable area in the middle really sucks this way.

Does anyone have any advice for doing this area?

When I vanquished this area some days ago, this is what I used:

Ele tanker (myself)
3 smiting monks with SoJ (identical holy builds -> all heroes)
2 henchie monks
2 henchie eles

I just throw myself at the crowd, wait a couple of seconds, and let hero charge in. At LB8 and holy damage, I can take out 2 full undead groups at the same time. That solved the undead problem.

For the elemental mages, same thing except that you place heroes on one side and henchies on other. Only once they die due to bad aggro.

The area itself is pretty big with some enemies on top of hills. Funny thing is I did this area when the quest 'Return of the Undead King' was active. There were 5 more undead groups but I still managed to vanquish it at 425 kills XD.

I'm not sure what tanking builds a necro can bring except if you go /E. Also, using PvE fro GWEN will be helpful such as 'Light of Deldrimor', 'Pain Inverter' and 'I'm unstoppable', although I used none of these.

In addition, I didn't use Frozen soil. Granted the undead where ressing each other, I was killing them too fast for them to do anything except resssing.

consumables always make things half as hard if you have the full set of 3 going, i'm not too proud to use them

Use consumbles to kill monster on the hard terain, and use wurms for the rest.
It is relatively easy if you know what to do and if you dont over agro.

I did all of Elona with h/h, and the standard anti-undead builds work for Joko's Domain. Bring a couple of Me/Mo heroes with Mantra of Inscriptions, and the Bane, Castigation, Mystic Wrath and Judgment signets. For the third hero, bring a Splinter Weapon barrager and Judge's Insight on one of your Me/Mos. If you have no other physical damagers, the barrage hero won't stupidly cast Splinter Weapon on others. Well of Darkness and AoE hexes like Suffering can work almost as well as wards. Enfeebling Blood and SS are musts.

General idea is to fight around corners. For the large rocky mesa in the center, the majority of them can be pulled to the wurms. Disable the Leave Junundu skill on your heroes -- three wurms can still make short work of the rest. Most of the mobs can be pulled a long way, but beware of Gale locking effigies (use "I Am Unstoppable!").

Crags are no threat at all with Pain Inverter. Two pulses of Sandstorm will kill them.

That was definitely a rough zone to clear. Start from bone palace, woprk your way to the paragon boss and kills as much as you can. As soon as your team hits 30%-40% dp, pop the full set of consumables and clear all the rocky area should be able to do the whole thing with a single set. Be sure to hit up the ele boss and that "u" loop right under bone palace before your consumables run out. After that it's just a matter of mopping up the areas with wurms.

Got it last night using 2 signet smiters with mantra, a MM hero, warrior, holy and two heal henches, with myself as an Ursan necro (I know, but I really wanted this and hexes are out in this area). The only thing that gave me real headaches where the damn sandstorm mages. Thanks for the advice!

Tasked my heroes and myself as sig smiters. Worked like a charm. Brought along the 2 monks, holy and para henches. Only wiped twice. Paragon boss group was a bit tricky.

Thx for the advice, tried to vanq this area probably 6 times to no avail. Got Vanquisher of Elona last night!!

got my elonian vanquisher (and legendary vanquisher) title this weekend.

i didn't need *ANY* consumables for any zone in NF, though I did pop quite a few honeycombs (I have 2 stacks of them so I used them whenever any party member died).

Generally, I went with the Sab 3 necro hero team, both hench monks, ranger, and Cynn. Myself, Ursan warrior. I'd charge into a mob, hit Light of Deldrimor, go right into Ursan and just try to interrupt/spike the acolytes and paragons.

When you get into the Margo areas it actually becomes ridiculously easy with high LB rank.

This was the easiest continent of the 3 to vanquish.

I got news for you buddy, honeycombs are consumables. If I'd had that many to chew on I wouldn't have needed to use the *other* consumables.

For anyone still stuck there I vanquished this yesterday with a build that worked very well. For primary damage we took along 2 barragers with [skill]judge's insight[/skill] and a third R/P barrager with [skill]"go for the eyes!"[/skill] for alot of crits. One of the rangers took along [skill]frozen soil[/skill] so resses were no problem. For the rest we had 2 monks (LoD and SoR), Jagged bomber MM, SS necro (probly would be better switched out for another holy dmg dealer) and D-slash/SY! spammer also with Judges Insight.

Let tank bunch the undead up on a corner, and they fall in a few seconds, we were laughing because we could take out the undead grps faster like this than when in the wurms. We first did all the area's you can only reach on foot which don't have many crags, then did the desolate area's (it's easy to run up some dp there, so best to do all that has to be done on foot first)

I vanquished Joko's last night with H/H. I used myself as a SF ele with Pain Inverter and Frozen Soil, Sabway Minion Bomber and N/Rit Healer and a monk signet smiter. Heroes were 2 monks, fire ele and Holy derv.

Start by going NE and taking out the Paragon boss, The mob CAN be lured to the wurm area by flagging a hero to draw aggro then flagging him to run back. Next, work your way around to the Assassin boss in the middle. The mob isn't too tough, so kill them and let the bomber create minions. Next is the ele boss. Frozen soil and the environment are your friends here. Try to pull them so they are around a corner from you. The minions should hold them around the corner and you can nuke with impunity. (Find someone without Obsidian, the monk is a good choice)

After that, skip the SE wurm area and get the 2 large undead mobs in the rocky area to the SW. I wiped here several times, but the corner trick finally worked wonders. Watch out because the rez shrine is right where the mob will be if you pull in the wrong direction! If you build up DP, go back to the SE and use the wurm to burn it off. Finally, finish off the rest of the SE and head back to finish off the NW (I saved this wurm area for emergency DP reduction).

I finished in about 2 and a half hours with no consumables, 437 kills.
