I am very new to the game and see information about training skills. I also found I need to talk to Sir Bertram but can't see to find him. I am level 5 currently.

My questions are

1. Does he fit into a quest line and I don't need to look for him? Meaning I will find him by storyline etc.

2. It says Ascalon city but I still can't find him anywhere.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem when I first started. You're probably still in Pre-Searing, which is like a tutorial. Play a bit more untill the Searing and you'll find him.

Ok, good. I thought I was missing something. I have like 5 pts to train and just did not want to miss for forget.

I am certainly in the new zone area but I see lots of people high level and some 15 +.

I will continue to march along then.

Thanks for the help I do appreciate it

It doesn't matter. Leave whenever you want to.

Ideally, finish all the quests you can find in various towns. You can leave earlier, but exp never hurts.

I would recommend if you're relatively new to Guild Wars, that you do as the above poster suggested, and finish most if not all of the quests you can find, in Pre-Searing, before you move on. Reason being is that Pre-Searing is quite easy, albeit alot of jogging around from place to place, monster AI is not quite as good, and there is no Death Penalty. Take advantadge of the exp you can gain, it will make the game Post-Searing smoother.

Also, make sure you try ALL the secondary classes before you choose your final secondary. I can't remember them all, but there's a trainer avalable for each - Necromancer Munne in the Catacombs, Lady Althea the Mesmer at the Actor's Stage, the Warrior geezer just down the road from there, the Ranger dude twanging away at helpless devourers, the Ele playing with the Ice Golems, Mhenlo in the wassname temple-y place for Monkage - I think that's all of them

Basically, the higher your level when you leave the training area, the easier it will be when you reach post searing - for a while, anyway!
