Need a little help
Turtle222
Hi there, ive been creating this build and in a bit of a pickle. this build is pve btw
[skill]Enraging Charge[/skill] [skill]Flail[/skill] [skill]Forceful Blow[/skill] [skill]Fierce Blow[/skill] [skill]Mighty Blow[/skill] [skill]Yeti Smash[/skill] [skill]Lion's Comfort[/skill] [skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Hammer mastery: 12+1+1
Strength: 12+1
Tactics: 3+1
I would like to recharge my adrenaline quickly. when i switch over from one target to the other, i may finish them off too quickly and have to build it up all over again . and while enraging charge helps, i thought about adding
[skill]"You Will Die!"[/skill] or [skill]"To The Limit!"[/skill]. these will allow me to have a nice supply of adrenaline when i need it, but that means i would probably have to sacrifice something in return (one of my attack skills, thus lowering my damage chain)
do you think i should lower my strength, and add a few points in tactics? or shall i resort to using a major rune?
i was growing tired of using my Devastating + crushing blow build and thought i'd try something else

If you're going to have that low Tactics, I'm not sure Lion's Comfort is worth it, especially seeing as it's taking away adrenaline on use. Instead, I'd suggest swapping it out for "For Great Justice!", and if you can, swap out another skill for Enduring Harmony, a Paragon skill in Leadership.
This allows you to have better adrenaline management. Depending on what you're facing, you may want to swap out either of your three non-elite hammer attacks for something else (such as the above Enduring Harmony).
You may also want to have a look at some other PvE skills, such as Whirlwind Attack instead of Yeti Smash.

Yeah "FGJ!" is good, another option if you don't want to shorten your attack chain is to use [skill]Mokele Smash[/skill] in place of Yeti Smash for a bit of adrenaline gain and some extra damage.

I would drop yeti smash and lion's comfort and change it with FGJ and Mokele Smash. You can do without a self-heal in PvE
Turtle222
thank you for your feedback.
i have yeti smash in there particularly because i want to contribute to the aoe damage and overall i am dishing out more damage . the reason i took a self heal is because i just see it as a necessity, ie. your monk has ran out of energy and you have poison + bleed on you which would kill you in a matter of seconds without some self healing.
i have decided to have a go, and replaced yeti and lion's for FGJ and Mokele smash. my adrenaline is through the roof and im using my energy supply (if you looked above i hardly used it at all), yes my overall damage is great against one person and i seem to be doing well. only thing troubling me is self heal, i havnt entered a situation where ive needed it so far, but i feel i will need it in the near future, when my cond remover cant handle the heat of the whole party.
i don't want to be seen as that stupid fat warrior that cant take care of himself and relies heavily on the monks

You could always swap out Mighty/Fierce Blow for a self heal.

aye, which pretty much renders fierce blow ineffective,
thanks for your contribution anyway

Why not use Whirlwind Attack instead of Mokele Smash? You get the AoE you want, at less cost (compared to Yeti), roughly the same damage output, and it may contribute to your adrenaline management.
Depending on who you bring with you, I'd swap out the Resurrection Signet or Fierce Blow for whatever else you want to bring. With a good Monk behind you, you shouldn't need to bring a self-heal, but there are those times when things go wrong. Healing Signet at 9+ Tactics should be all you need in those times.

i was growing tired of using my Devastating + crushing blow build and thought i'd try something else Consider [skill]Berserker Stance[/skill]
I have a build that's more energy based with a KD that uses it, if you're interested? The build has a lot of synergy, no energy or adren problems, and constantly recharges it's stances. The jist of it is:
[skill]Enraging Charge[/skill] or [skill]Tiger Stance[/skill] (or use both)
[skill]Backbreaker[/skill]
Pulverizing Smash (your deep wound)
[skill]Auspicious Blow[/skill] (your +energy)
[skill]Renewing Smash[/skill] (your stance charger)
[skill]Berserker Stance[/skill] (this crappy skill actually works good here
Put in Tiger Stance, or FGJ, or a self heal, or Res. Whatever floats your boat. If you have FGJ and Enraging in there you can unload the combo right off the bat. Probably doesn't do as much +dmg as yours, but with the right skills it recharges quickly and maintains itself. This allows you to run up, unload your combo, hit berserker's when FGJ is down, and build up adren on your next target quickly. The overlapping of +adren skills just keeps you going and going.
The durations and recharges will work with each other nicely enough. The combo isn't a half bad spike/KD, so the quick recharge and application onto one target after another, makes it work very nicely and you're not waiting for it to charge up so much even during extended battles.
I'll hit FGJ + Enraging
unload the combo
hit berserker's while FGJ is still up
unload the combo in no time again
hit renewing smash
hit enraging
unload the combo
etc

No KD and no deep wound is pretty much fail for a hammer bar. If you're looking for outright DPS, a Dragon Slash warrior is superior. The strength of hammer in pve is the ability to keep foes on the ground, especially some of the tougher bosses. I like Earth Shaker > Crushing > Mighty > Counter Blow, since pretty much everything in pve attacks or wands. If you're more interested in single target damage, Dev Hammer > Crushing > Fierce > Heavy is also a nice combo.

has worked wonders for me with out KD or deepwound but thats my take.
KD isn't all that important on hammer allthough it is great on hammer.

Yeah like the guy above me said KD-AS can be very, very fun, but not that effective when compared to other builds these days. You don't need a KD in PvE its far less important than in PvP, a lot of foes can't even be knocked down anyway.
Whirlwind Attack and/or Crude Swing are good on a hammer bar, DBS is hilarious to play around with as well. Just try out any and all skills you want until you have a nice build, the fun thing about hammer is that you have a chain of attacks, but there is a whole heap of different chains you can come up with and play around with.
Just remember hammers, in my opinion, more than any of the other warriors weapons are all about fun in PvE, so have fun and kick ass.
