Deadly Paradox was nerfed and I started to ponder why some builds got the stick and other doesn't?
How is the process? They pool how many people are using the skill? It was hard to counter? Many people disliked it? Or no one knows what anet does??
Oh, and I think Deadly Paradox was a little evil skill too and I will miss the spam. I am not arguing if the nerf was deserved or not but what is the process behind it.
What is Anet politic about nerfs?

The general idea is to make all skills balanced, but that is such a sky-high goal it will never be reached. So this switching of metagames is about as good as it's gonna get.

High end PvP has evolved to use tactics that over the years have proven to be most effective. Being forced to deviate from those tactics, just to counter one type of popular build, at the risk of not being able to stack up against those still running the norm is overall bad for the high end PvP game.
When I say using certain tactics, I'm not talking about everyone only using certain builds, but more a strategy involving elements such as runners, pressure, split, spiking, ect.
BTW, anyone can come here and say I'm totally wrong as I have little first hand experience, this is just how I have come to understand it based on what I've observed from watching how others play.
It's called "Skill Balance".
Read Izzy's reply here for the skill balancing process:

As for why Deadly Paradox was changed, it was the basis of an overpowered Deadly Arts build.

Izzy uses secret technology to assure game balance.

It's pretty simple. They listen to the whiners, whoever makes the biggest noise. Particularly, the so-called "high-level pvpers" in "famous guilds" who use fancy vocabulary to drive their idiotic points disguised as brilliant ideas across. They make tldr dissertations on multiple forums, and some have direct contact with Izzy himself.
One would think that players supposedly "skilled" at the game would be more open-minded and accepting of builds that simply have good synergy, such as SP and DP, but no, they cry the most and the loudest.
It's all complete BS imo, and these people should have their teeth knocked down their throat with a baseball bat.
