BMP activating without meeting the requirements?

Hi guys,

My guildmate just told me that he can play the bonus missions and claim the rewards.

That's fine and all, but he also told me he didn't buy anything from the online store before Oct 31st.

So what gives? Why did I have to spend US$30 on 3 character slots and he didn't?

Things he did before Oct 31st.

1) Bought a boxed Nightfall from a retailer.

Things he did after October 31st

1) Buy all the skill packs. $24.95

Now if the retail Nightfall or any other boxed campaign activated the Bonus Missions , why were we not told? Because I bought Nightfall with him as well. And why was it worded in such a way that only puchases from the online store would activate the BMP?
Or was it the skill packs? But that did not add up to $29.99.

Either way, I'm not happy.

Have them check the keys on their account. That's the only way to know if their account has access to BMP.

If they do, then all is fine. If not, then it's a bug.

See - now why would you not just be happy that you met the conditions, received what you paid for, and are happy with the product? What does your friend have to do with a contract of sale between you and Anet that was met and honoured on both sides? Why does this situation make you unhappy with Anet - that's the bit I do not get.

This guildmate can't be much of a friend to you if you want to highlight his case and perhaps expose him and have his access stripped. I don't get why YOU should feel the aggrieved and injured one in all this.

Is your message "WHY DO I HAVE TO PLAY BY THE RULES - WHY CAN"T I JUST LUCK OUT AND HAVE THE WORLD GIVE ME FREEBIES - GIMMEE GIMMEE GIMMEE?"

Maybe I am being overly harsh here but I just don't get how you are injured in all this. I can understand why you are confused by the situation, but to be "NOT HAPPY" over it is just a bit "drama queen" to me. One wonders how you react when your mate gets 3 goldies and an elite tome on a run and you get whites and crafting materials (mind you - I get darn moody when that happens too ).

Well if he didn't have to pay the money and if he has access to the BMP, then you should be happy for him. Can't you.. support him? I bought 3 extra slots to access the BMP, and I'm fine with someone else getting lucky. It's not like if you hadn't paid $30, you would get access.

I have to agree with sirada here. I bought gwen using the online store to make sure I got the bmp, therefore missing out on the box contents. If people are getting unwarranted access to the bmp then this issue will need to be addressed.
