FPS lag never had this problem before.
Gneppe
I've always been one of the guys who runs gw with no lag and good FPS.
I've never experienced problems before.
Then suddenly my pc crashes while surfing and now im getting some problems:
Everytime i open chat, inventory etc. my FPS can jump down to like 2 from 200. I dont know what causes this.
I got this card: Geforce 7600 GT
I've also experienced slow loading times (When loading into Great Temple of Balthazar for example)
TY in advance.

I was wondering if others were having the same problems?
I've already defragged and scanned my computer..
I find it weird that it gives me lag when i open the chat and not during gameplay.
I dont lag if i recieve messages i lag if i type messages or just click the ½ key

Sounds like a scripting issue, if it is happening mainly when you open inventory, chat window, etc.
Check your GPU temps in the nVidia control panel during gameplay, and post them here (Fahrenheit or Celsius work)

Hey.
I found out that my Hard disk is apparently running in PIO mode. But i cant change it back. I dunno if this might be the thing giving me trouble but i definately need to fix it.
I've tried to uninstall the IDE primary but that didnt help.

200 fps.. with a 7600GT? I find that hard to believe.. Even with all low settings.. Unless you play at like 640x480 or 800x600 or something?

To disable PIO mode, do the following.
Go to start, then Run.
Type DevMgmt.msc and press enter
Open the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controller section
Find your HDD Controller, click properties, go to advanced and change the transfer mode. Hope this helps.

Open the case and make sure the hard disk's data cable is undamaged and attached ok. Some of the better DMA transfer modes don't work without a good enough cable, and the motherboard may have some autodetection logic for that which _may_ drop the mode back to the basic Programmed Input/Output mode 0 (max speed 3.3 MB/s) for compatibility if the cable's not good enough.
Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Windows had just broken down on its own - it does that sometimes. You could try reinstalling your motherboard chipset's drivers if the above doesn't work.
