this one helps doing damage through GftE, u can switch out flurry or watch yourself for anthem of flame.

note that the build is a bit old, it comes from before the Watch Yourself/GftE update.

[skill]glowing signet[/skill][skill]blazing spear[/skill][skill]"they're on fire!"[/skill][skill]anthem of flame[/skill][skill]defensive anthem[/skill][skill]"Never surrender!"[/skill][skill]"stand your ground!"[/skill][skill]Signet of return[/skill]

Optionals I use: [skill]Merciless Spear[/skill] for blazing, [skill]Anthem of disruption[/skill] for "stand your ground"

You're not going to get a very good return off of any non-player Paragon. Anything the above build can do can be done better by a protection monk. A Paragon's power is almost exclusively drawn from PvE Player only skills.

However, definitely drop the sig for GftE. And Never Surrender for another attack skill.

The dps from auto-attack damage is more useful in high end pvp. In pve, you're usually fighting things with extra high health and armor, and depending on the type of enemies you're fighting, auto-attacks can be very weak. While Paragons are known for providing defense while still being able to put out dps, keep in mind it doesn't work as well in pve. Human paragons are much different through, since they can use pve skills which leave their attributes free so they can max their spear mastery without having trouble with providing team defense.

[skill]Power Return[/skill][skill]Song of Restoration[/skill][skill]Ballad of Restoration[/skill][skill]Aria of Restoration[/skill][skill]Signet of Synergy[/skill][skill]Finale of Restoration[/skill][skill]Purifying Finale[/skill][skill]"Go for the Eyes!"[/skill]

12/12 leadership/motivation, major runes for each. I made this to be used with another paragon with pretty much the same build...together it gives good party wide heals, and anyone with Finale of restoration on them will get massive heals for a long time. Defensive Anthem is also a good elite to use. Maybe it's just me but for some reason I don't like using 1 paragon hero alone....I've tried random builds and sometimes it feels like they're better off being replaced with a different hero. Power return can be replaced - i like it cause it's a quick cheap interrupt and paragons usually have the energy to spam it. "Go for the eyes" is just e-management.

I don't understand the fascination with all the 0 spear mastery paragon bars; to me, it makes as much sense as running 0 marks Ranger heroes with no bow skills and 6-8 garbage spirits or something else dumb.

[skill]Aggressive Refrain[/skill][skill]"Go for the Eyes!"[/skill][skill]Vicious Attack[/skill][skill]"They're on Fire!"[/skill][skill]Defensive Anthem[/skill][skill]Aria of Restoration[/skill][skill]Ballad of Restoration[/skill][skill]Glowing Signet[/skill]

Template Code: OQCkUumzJiuj72C3j7wTYPMHuFD

I run this on General Morgahn in my W/D's Hero/Hench build. A Searing Flamer or Mark of Rodgort Mind Blaster provides the energy for Glowing Signet and the defensive boost for "They're on Fire!". Every other party member besides my Warrior and Paragon are casters, so they get the full benefit from Defensive Anthem as well as supplementary healing from Aria of Restoration to take pressure off the monks.

Atts are 12 Spear, 12 Motivation, 14 Leadership, 4 Command. I run superior runes for Motivation & Leadership and a minor for Spear Mastery. Survivor runes, Major Vigor, one Vitae, +30 health on the spear and +29 on the shield boosts health up to 480. Running 2 Sup's has never been a problem, more often than not he's the last to die in a party wipe.

GftE is often enough to maintain energy once Morgahn has momentum, but every now and then his energy will stall. To overcome the problem I take Glowing Sig to get the energy ball rolling and never have to worry about his energy levels when the going gets tough or when he's spam happy.

Vicious Attack is the optional slot - I swap in [skill=text]Chorus of Restoration[/skill] for extra healing for myself and the General, [skill=text]Hexbreaker Aria[/skill] for hex removal on all casters, [skill=text]Finale of Restoration[/skill] for big heals from frequent shouts / chants, [skill=text]Mending Refrain[/skill] for a no energy maintenance...ahem...[skill=text]Mending[/skill], [skill=text]Purifying Finale[/skill] for sustained condition removal, [skill=text]Aria of Zeal[/skill] for caster battery support, [skill=text]Signet of Synergy[/skill] for a free heal, [skill=text]Spear of Lightning[/skill] for some extra DPS, [skill=text]Zealous Anthem[/skill] for energy hungry melee / ranged builds, or [skill=text]Signet of Return[/skill] for a backup hard rez.

Instead of Motivation you could spec in Command for a huge boost to critical % with GftE. Take [skill=text]"Stand Your Ground!"[/skill] and [skill=text]"Never Surrender!"[/skill] instead of Aria & Ballad of Restoration. Other than GftE I don't really rate Command skills whereas Motivation offers a wealth of options.

I also run a N/Rt Jagged Bones MM/Channeler with [skill=text]Ancestors' Rage[/skill], [skill=text]Splinter Weapon[/skill] and [skill=text]Warmonger's Weapon[/skill] on the bar. On the rare occasion that i don't, I'll re-spec Spear down to 9, Command down to 3, run Channeling at 9 and take either Splinter or Warmonger. Morgahn will spam Splinter on himself and me for a decent AoE boost, or Warmonger for 11 secs of major shutdown. Warmonger's Weapon all but eliminates any need for an interruption-based Ranger or Mesmer, freeing up a slot for a more offensive hero or henchy.

Another option is to run the build as P/E (Spear 9, Fire 9), swap in [skill=text]Conjure Flame[/skill] for Vicious Attack and use a Fiery spear for some great DPS. There's not much point running dedicated spear attack skills when you get +14 fire damage on every hit with 25% IAS from Aggressive Refrain AND gain full coverage of Defensive Anthem to offset his Cracked Armor condition. Toss Splinter Weapon on top and you've got some mean damage output on a defensive Para build.

Morgahn runs the build and its variants very well - he has no energy problems once he gets Aggressive Refrain up and starts shouting GftE (for energy management), contributes decent DPS with his increased attack speed, provides 2 party-wide heals every 20 secs, provides blocking of 50% of attacks 40% of the time, reduces damage from burning foes by 33% all of the time, boosts attack criticals to inflict deep wound while boosting my W/D damage output, and spams interrupts or boosts AoE damage. In a nutshell, he's the shit and i wouldn't run a party without him!

The build you run ultimately comes down to the composition of the rest of your party. With 3 Heroes you've got 32 skill slots on hand, not just the 8 on the Para, so it makes sense to synergise. Morgahn's greatest benefit to me is "They're on Fire!" because it works extremely well with SF or MoR (i like permanent 7 degen and 33% damage reduction on all my foes), as well as solid squishy defense with Defensive Anthem. I run "Watch Yourself!" and "Save Yourselves!" on my Warrior for extra party-wide damage mitigation and to help power Finale of Restoration, Purifyiing Finale or Chorus of Restoration (when i use them). Olias' Ancestor's Rage helps with melee support or backline pressure, Warmonger's and Splinter is applied to Morgahn's IAS spear attacks and my IAS scythe attacks, while his minions soak up melee pressure, spread bleeding and blow up / poison foes when Death Nova goes off.

A quick comment on 0 Spear Mastery builds - why not spec as a P/Rt and run [skill=text]Vocal was Sogolon[/skill] for a major boost to the length of shouts and chants?!? This is more applicable to Leadership/Command builds than Motivation, but if he's standing there doing nothing you might as well get something out of it. For Motivation builds take Warmonger's for better interrupts vs Power Return.
