D/Any Onslaught Build
Bassu
Today I was messing with my Derv's elites and this is what I came up with (I know it's nothing new but since the skills synergy very well I've decided to post this setup here).
D/Any
Scythe Mastery: 11+2
Wind Prayers: 8+1
Mysticism: 11+1
[skill]Lyssa's Assault[/skill]
[skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill]
[skill]Chilling Victory[/skill]
[skill]Attacker's Insight[/skill]
[skill]Onslaught[/skill]
[skill]Heart of Fury[/skill]
Great Dwarf Armor
[skill]Mystic Twister[/skill] / [skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
This is a fun build to play with in PvE. I've been testing it on HM and it was doing very nicely so I can assume it will do the job in NM as well. Basically it has a huge damage potential. You cast GDA, then Attacker's Insight, then Onslaught and finally Heart of Fury. Next, you use your 3 attacks skills and you should have max energy after it. Your finishing move should be Mystic Twister, of course assuming that your target is not dead already.
Some may say that downside of this build is lack of self-healing, but IMO in PvE you should stick to your class' task only - which in case of dervishes is dealing huge amount of damage. But if you want more defense - go with Mystic Vigor/Natural Healing/Dwayna's Touch instead of Mystic Twister.
I think that this build also has a PvP potential, thinking chiefly about AB. Instead of GDA get yourself a self-heal, and maybe a running skill instead of Mystic Twister - everything up to you.
For this build I'm using Zealous Scythe of Enchanting, but you may use Vampiric/Sundering Scythe of Enchanting too.
Radiant on chest, Survivour on the rest.
Hope some of you guys will have fun while using this build,
Cheers

Onslaught fails as an elite.
Therefore, any build with Onslaught as the elite also fails.

Onslaught would be good if it were about 50% rather than 25% :/ As it stands, it's really only that useful for rangers with expensive attacks.
Turtle222
i see what you are doing, but...i dont think onslaught is such a good idea.
nice try though
i only wish OS was 50% as the above guy said

If only this was true....

For PvE, Eternal Aura overshadows Onslaught real bad.

This also makes little sense.
I need to make a fail sticker for this thread I think.

Now, on a personal level I don't like Wind Prayers at all. I find most the skills underpowered but thats just me. I prefer to spec in to Myst. Scythe then Earth prayers for things like Conviction, or EDA.
But if this build works for you and your play style go for it man. Don't listen to Terraban. Sounds like he or she (maybe both you never know now a days) /fails at life.

onslaught isnt bad, i kinda like it but there are other skills i find more effective so i dont really use it much at all
Sir Pandra Pierva
Onslaught isnt bad. I kinda like it even in RA and AB
Psyko
i use a much similar build actually, and very much like it. Yes it does function... id say decently in AB (was farming luxon rep for another character and didnt have a better build to use)
Personally i would agree that it COULD be made a little better... but then cant everything?

After seeing this post I tried this build with a little tweaking. It works alright but it's not better then what I usually run. Still it's nice to see the wind prayer line getting some use.
Captain Marvel
What about dropping mysticism a bit and replacing HoF with Whirling Charge? If you are popping up Wind prayers, might as well use it.
GourangaPizza
^ And replace Mystic Twister with Aura of Holy Might

because even at my 10 pts in wind prayers it only lasts half the recharge time (10/20secs). Where as at 12 myst HoF lasts for 17/30 secs, theoretically you get more from HoF, not to mention that nifty set them on fire if they arent already dead yet side effect from HoF. That and HoF is an enchant, and while the OP doesnt use it, i have myst regen in my build, and the extra ench adds to the regen.
however it is true that if you wanted a whole 12 points in WPs then Whirling Charge would work better, but that is then gimping the energy and health return from mysticism, and using this build im gonna say more often than not you need the energy return >.<
and darkside, what build do you usually run? Im interested in seeing better builds, to see what i can do to make mine better

Take both HoF and Whirling charge. You have a perma IAS that way.
Psyko
well of course there always is that option

This is the wind build I tried based off the original posters idea.
D/Any
Scythe Mastery: 12+1+1 (14)
Wind Prayers: 12+1 (13)
Mysticism: 3
[skill]Great Dwarf Armor[/skill]
[skill]Onslaught[/skill]
[skill]Attacker's Insight[/skill]
[skill]Whirling Charge[/skill]
[skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill]
[skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill]
[skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill]
[skill]Mystic Twister[/skill]
Adding more points into wind prayers makes whirling charge last 13/20 seconds so that's a little better then Heart of Fury and maximizes the effectiveness of the other wind prayer skills that your using. Build still needs more tweaks and one thing I noticed is that Mystic Twister is pretty crappy. Might as well put in some other scythe attack because unless the creature is/are vulnerable to cold the damage is not that impressive.
Here's the build I generally run
D/W
Scythe Mastery: 11+1+1 (13)
Earth Prayers: 8
Mysticism: 11+1 (12)
[skill]Great Dwarf Armor[/skill]
[skill]Avatar of Lyssa[/skill]
[skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill]
[skill]Victorious Sweep[/skill]
[skill]Wild Blow[/skill]
[skill]Aura of Holy Might[/skill]
[skill]Heart of Fury[/skill]
[skill]Eternal Aura/skill]
It's a pretty well rounded build...and has worked pretty well for me. Great dwarf armor for added armor and a little boost to health, Avatar of Lyssa for the extra energy and damage to foes activating skills, mystic regen for some healing, Victorious sweep for some more healing, wild blow for annoying stances, Aura of Holy Might + Heart of Fury for fast damage, Eternal Aura to keep up my Avatar and the Area damage is pretty nice as well.

ahh, thank you very much
now, with the onslaught build, did you have any problems using the skills as the recharged? iow was energy a problem?

oh, thats right, your build doesnt have as many enchants to cast... i go a bit heavier on the defense and end up with a few higher energy enchs.
