I'm not too knowledgeable about the price of bows as I normally work with swords, shields & staffs etc. I just got this bow as a drop & was wondering whether I should sell it as unidentified or ID it & risk seeing crappy mods on it.

I got it from Tomb Of Primeval Kings so it won't be inscribable.

Thanks

just id it, unid are worth 1k each, since you can check the mods before id'ing it.

Equip it and use it. Mods will still affect you, regardless of whether it's identified or not.

This is the reason people only buy unided golds for the title - anyone selling such items in bulk will test them before selling, making sure to only sell the worthless ones.

OK I just equipped it but the only difference I noticed was my health went up by 29. Is there any way to check whether it has 20/20 etc etc?

I would consider it much more important to see if it has a good inherent damage mod.. 15>50 specifically, since that's whats going to sell it. Bowstring and bow grip mods can be changed. You can test damage in the Isle of the Nameless. Doing it accurately would be a challenge... I would assume (read: someone verify this) that at 12 Marksmanship, your non-criticals should be doing between 15 and 28 damage to the 60 armor target. If you get non-crits doing higher than that you've probably got a +damage mod of some kind.

lol I ID'd it & it turned out pretty bad, here's the thread so you can take a look - http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...25#post3418825

Although I may be wrong, but I can't see why "in a stance" would be useful on a ranger

those are just the stances from the expertise line for rangers

I wouldn't "merch" it - it's still worth something - put it on Guru auction and see what you get. Storm Bows are longbows, so it's good for pulling - pulling doesn't really require any stats, and stormbows look good.

And you can always give it to heroes if you don't need it.

Don't put crap stuff on your heroes (or, not the ones you actually use, anyway) - people put crap on their heroes and then complain that heroes "suck".
