Alright, so, here's the deal. My motherboard has an AGP slot, I'm not sure how good it is, because I seem to have lost my notebook with all my hardware manuals in it. How can I find out how good it is, and what is the best AGP card I could buy? I am aware that PCI-X is much better, however, I can't spend the money on an entirely new system. Oh, and currently I have a Radeon 9550.

AGP is beginning to get phased out by PCIe. However, a fair amount of powerful AGP cards are still around.
I use the Nvidia GeForce 7800 GS, which works incredibly well.
Don't bother upgrading until you need a new computer. In the meantime, AGP is still quite capable of high-end graphics performance.

having PCI and AGP mobos lying around, I'll add this. when you see a good deal, strike, because I've had to shell out a nice chunk of cash for something (PCI fx card) you would think is cheap because it's phased out. AGP's atm are on their last leg(?) and the prices are pretty stable. once stock is depleted, expect prices to rise.
Hah! I was just getting ready to do this. And then my fifth SATA HDD died, and I was like well screw that.
Try this on, you might look good in it. 7800GS by EVGA, 256MB GDDR3. Newegg has a reasonable price, I'd say.
