I doubt this will ever change but...yeah. I was just curious about everyone's thoughts on it.

Okay, everyone knows that after so many messages sent so close together, you get a message in orange that says, "Your message was suppressed due to excessive messaging". My guess is it's there to prevent spamming. But after a while it gets annoying when you're not spamming. I mean, I type 100wpm and that's not my fault. So I don't see why different messages should be suppressed. Yes, if you're pushing the up arrow and spamming the same thing over and over, yes it should be suppressed but otherwise...yeah. What's everyone else think?

There is a 20-30 second waiting period and you're limited to four messages being said within the time period, I think it was. I think it's fine, and I get my messages across. I feel that there should be an area just for trade, and the trade option be removed completely. A bazaar for selling wares would be nice, with Local, Guild, Team, Buy, Sell, Trade, Emote, Whisper categories in the chat instead of the typical.

It used to be worse. Once they made an update to it. I would get the suppressed message thing a lot even though I only type like ~65 wpm. It got to the point that I couldn't even type.
Its more reasonable now.

Has never realy been an issue for me in regular conversation, only when I was trying to advertise multiple items, thus alot of different lines needed typed. I rarely try to sell anything anymore though, so no longer an problem. If your seriously to fast for it normal convesation, then just "slow down killa, take it easy." Or you could think more about what your typing... try to use big difficult words that will slow you down lol.

I type a good 121 wpm, and I never have problem with conversations. Sometimes, I'll have conversations while fighting, and I'll end up sending messages like...

Hey yeah
I think that's great
You know what'd be
better?
Well if we did...
some kind of screenshot

blah blah, whatever. That sort of thing, where I type out things like crazy, and most of my whispers look like that anyway. I'll end up spamming a person's chat box, but I think the trade is more suppressed than anything. In fact, I'll see how many times I can spam stuff in local. I could say something about 9 times in local straight until I got suppressed. So trade is suppressed more than the other chats. Whisper I don't think is suppressed at all.

I type with every single dot and comma, and even in Spanish, which words are longer, and I get this problem only a few times.

Maybe depends on who are you talking with.

If they changed it so the message only had to be different, people would take one exclamation point off their spam and drown the channel/district. :P I think it's okay the way it is. It's useful to be able to type fast, but typing three words and hitting enter so you can add another couple of words to the same sentence is annoying and SHOULD be penalized. :P You don't get the message if you're filling the entire chat field before starting another, and if you do, congratulations on your cool cyborg hands.

Just my two cents. I like the chat setup as far as spam prevention goes.

Type like an idiot, I'll treat you like an idiot

I type around 115WPM and it's not really got me. Maybe during a large discussion where you're forced to be a bit more elaborate, but even then, I don't mind waiting a second or two to type my next message. It's a small price to pay to stop the spammers.
