What happens when you cap an elite you can't have?

Just curious, what happens if, say, in EotN you were to attempt to capture a Nightfall elite from one of the bosses, but you dont actually own Nightfall?

I think itll black out when u try to use it. Kinda like what anet did when they did the NF preview and when it ended they didn't let u play them

You won't be able to use it.

I'd be curious to know the answer, but my off-hand guess would be that, if you can capture it, you can use it.

If you own EotN, you will be able to use it.
If you just have the trial, it will most likely be blacked out when it is over.

if u cap let's say gladiators defence and u actually own only factions, nightfall and gwen u won't be able to use gladiator's defence until u buy prophecies too....

In short, you have to own the campaign the skill was originally from.
