KoaBD - Universal Title?

My suggestion is this. Under about 8/10 players, there's a title. Titles were mean't to show achievements, however, with no effort at all, you can get a title without even trying. Since, titles barely show achievements now days, there has to be a way to fix this to make titles more rare than common.

My first and main idea is this, to make Kind of a Big Deal, the title track have a new purpose. It can be shown along with another title.

For example?:

Legendary Skill Hunter

I like both of these titles, but I wish I could show both. The KoaBD title track is simply a track based off titles. What's the point if you can't show the titles you have worked for? Those with "My Guild Hall Smells Of Rich Mahogany" and "God Walking Amongst Mortals" can't show the titles that take a lot of time, effort, patience, and dedication to get.

The KoaBD title goes above all titles on the Title tab listing to show how many titles you have maxed, and is now has a special click option. Instead of the checkmark, there is a [] with the option to be [x].

What this does, is it basically turns it 'Off/On' in lamest term, incase you do not want to show the title, and only want to show another title. It shouldn't be forced on, incase some don't.

Titles were mean't to brag and show off, whether it be an ego thing or not, is up to the player, not the title itself. I just like more than one title. I obviously favor my People Know Me title, but I like using alternatives too.

My other suggestion, is other titles get shown at a later rank.

Sunspear, you can't show it until rank six, so you have to put a little more effort into it. All the rank titles you get in Eye of the North, you see tons of people running around with them. There's no point to them now. No ranking value, no pride in showing them since everyone is.

A solution would be to make all the titles unshowable until rank 3 or 5. These are the only times these titles provide anything of worth.

Oh wait, you may say "What about the effects title brings?" Well, here is my suggestion to that. Can we FINALLY make it where the title effects AUTOMATICALLY come into play, whether the title is equipped or not? When we transition from Norn to Asura territory, we forget to switch our titles to get the bonus and lack that upper hand until we finally notice it. Not everyone is a great multi-tasker, even I have forgotten to put on the title.

It'd be really useful and makes transitionings smoother.

Conclusion:

1) Kind of a Big Deal title track, be shown along side another title of your choosing, also moving the KoaBD title above all the others for easier access.
2) EotN title be shown at higher rankings to decrease the masses of these titles flushing out into the community.

Titles were mean't to brag. It's like Pokemon cards. If you had a Charizard, you were basically the coolest kid on the block. But if everyone had it, you were just one in the same.

i wouldnt want to press Alt in town and see a wall of text from peoples titles + KobD...i can see what you mean, but it has no real use other than to make the text under your name larger.

Well, I'm not sure what you're saying. When you hold down control, it shows all the player names, but unless your cursor is over a name, it doesn't show any titles, so no 'wall of titles' you explain of appears.

It's to help the bragging process, since titles were mean't to show off, hence their introduction to the game. To let people know 'Wow, that player is good.'

It's a universal title that can be activated along side another to show off more. Basically. And, let people use that title, since it's usually a favorited title along side their other favorite title.

Like this idea, let me leave my KoaBD title up that i'm proud of, and let em have a utility title up(lightbringer,asuran, ect)

Would just cause more lag inside cities. Pretty much the last thing we need...I asked Gaile Gray why there couldnt be a star next to your title or something symbolizing that you are officer or leader in your guild and she told me what i just told you.

Why not have the freedom do use any 2 titles?

I suggested that already somewhere else, so I can't be against it.

Increase KoaBD, and be able to show 1 more title for ever 2 ranks.
- KoaBD(2) can show two titles.
- KoaBD (4) can show three titles.
- KoaBD (6) can show four titles.
But it would better not requiring you to have also KoaBD. By having two titles, people would already know that you have KoaBD (2) or higher.

Sounds nice. But if do this, they first should fix the Ctrl/Alt behavoir, so when you Hit one but not the other, they filter the names so those that the other show are hidden.

Currently, when you hit Alt and move the pointer near the Xunlai Storage, all the names of the nearby players, that should be hiding while holding Alt but not Ctrol are show.

Once they fix that first, this would be plausible.

/signed I think this would be a nice addition. one it shows how much time and for some of us effort to get Koabt and it lets you show a title u are using Norn,asura etc or just one your proud of.

KoaBD isn't that hard to get anymore. Rank 2 as well. It isn't really that hard to guess what titles people have, more likely than not, they are going to be PvE titles. Cartography, Skill Hunter and Protector.

It wasn't meant to be an ego thing, in my opinion, it was so the PvE kids would have something like the kids with fame.

This will BARELY cause ANY lagg, most of it is client based I think... For all I care, they remove minipets again xD

Well, actually 'searching' for guild tag and showing titles consumes connection.

But not much. The number of people per outpost instance is fixed.

Gaile Gray said it would cause more lag...I asked a question like this to her and that is exactly how she responded. This really isnt that great of an idea.... Now a cooler idea would be something done to your CAPE to show what you've earned. PVPers have it, why not something for PVEers to show the KoaBD track...I'd sign that, but there is no reason to bog large cities down with even more lag.

I don't think adding pages of text below peoples names is necissary, however a similar idea would be to allow the koabd track to function as the appropriate "area" title track so that you don't have to switch all the time.

Uhmm....no...lol....You want to show off? Well People know me is good enough. You want to show Leg Surv/Skill hunter? Change it. Noone care about that. Seriously, why would you want to change something just for somebody to show off? In big event where mini game held in Towns, this will just make things harder to find. Everywhere is HUGE charts of titles and title where noone care. Finding a merchant in town post is a challenge HE He he....!!! I thought my 100% Carto is annoying for others enough cause its dam long lol!
