Old player coming back, confused on what to do

Hi I've gotten bored of WoW completely and realized I had two GW boxes on my shelf. Checking to see how much GW evolved I have to say it went a long way.

I've bought GW on release date and had great fun, I got to lvl 19 Ne/Me and sort of got bored and went back to WoW. At the time WoW seemed superior. Later on I got factions because I had nothing to do but wait for the WoW expansion to come out. I didn't play it much since I went straight back to WoW. Needless to say I have never had the chance to engage in the endgame points of GW. Now it seems WoW is dull and boring.

I have the two copies: Prophecies and Factions. I have no idea where to start now. Which campagn would be funner to start a new character? Should I get nightfall and Eotn this xmas? Are the current campagns i have dead in terms of community? Should I just go straight for Eotn?

Basically what I'm wondering is, how do I get the most out of GW in my current situation? Thanks.

Basically, if you still have that Necro, you should level him up to lvl20 (won't take long). You can then continue to play Prophecies (the original game) and Factions.
Once you get to Lion's Arch you can do a simple quest to gain access to Factions. You don't "move" your character to Factions - you can go back and forth between the areas freely. Some people find the early parts of Factions, around Kaineng City, to be graphically depressing, but it gets better once you get to Kurzick and/or Luxon territory.
To get the full use of GW these days, you may want to get some Heroes. You'd need Nightfall or Eye of the North to get heroes.
I'd say Nightfall would be "funnest" to start a new character, but out of the other two, I'd go with Prophecies.

NF and GWEN are not necessarily more fun, but they are more impressive and rewarding. No chapter is really dead. There are even people going around trying to complete all chapters, get elites in missions, and what not.

Why did you get bored so quickly with Prophecies and Factions?

I found WoW more appealing at the time. Well thanks guys I think I'll just make a new character on prophecies. Only question is, should I get nightfall and gwen so I don't miss much? Or just straight to gwen?

Both. NF has so many elites you can't pass up, has heroes, and is a nice campaign. GWEN has nice PvE-only skills, is also fun, some heroes.

Look around for the comparison if it's worth it to you, but anyone who enjoys GW in general should like both NF and GWEN.

Yes it does get hard at that point. Join a good group and you'll get through it, though.

Only problem is, all the intelligent people don't seem to PUG in that area. I had to wait until I could get help from a Guild mate before I could do it.
