a
kind of hard to beat the game now

Joining an active guild is always good ... but the Prophecies storyline is not exceedingly challenging either, if you just want to get it done for HM farming. After Factions came out I run my new Factions characters through Prophecies as well with just henches on my side (because all guildies were in Cantha and nobody had ever heard about heroes) and didn't find that too troublesome. If you can take some heroes (NF or EotN) with you, it's a cakewalk in NM. If you find just one other person to do it with you it's a cakewalk and fun, too

I think the only ones that may be hard would be the ones where you either, can't attack the guardians (for bonus) or keeping agro happy Prince Rurik alive, assuming you go H/H.
You can do all of the missions with just 1 human and the rest heros. Just as long as you all know what to do and how to do it.
Sometimes, getting the bonus first and failing the mission is okay.

Imo there are virtually no hard missions in Prophecies. The only thing that is hard is finding a good group. I was having some trouble beating proph as well before I bought eotn and got some heroes.
Now in just the past week I have beaten all the ring of fire missions and bonuses on my first or second try and have finished all other bonuses that most ppl think are hard (dunes of despair, riverside, ring of fire stuff, ect...) and finally got my protector title.
Not having heroes does make it harder though since you cant customize henchies to fight a certain type of enemy but you should still be able to do it with just henchies.

Another easy way to do hm missions/vanquishing is using eotn consumables. combining grail of might with armor of salvation puts you on an even toe (or a sick advantage) with any hm group you can encounter in tyria.(all party members get +100 hp, +10nrg, +1 to all stats, -5 dmg reduction (including spells) crit hit immunity, and +10 armour for 30 min). i just vanquished all of tyria with only heroes and henchies using these in the harder areas.
can get a little expensive though. some missions take longer than 30 min to do.

I just got Guardian of Tyria for my Warrior this past weekend, and I did all missions and bonuses with H/H, except for Thunderhead, which I had done months ago helping a guildie out. If you have heroes unlocked, use Sab's build (see Hero / AI forum) as a good starting template. Ok, not good, but EXCELLENT. Simply adjust your skills depending upon the enemies you know you'll see in the area. I beat all 23 (not counting Ascension) with Olias and Master of Whispers in my group. Necros make better nukers than Ele's, by far, if set up correctly. Their armor-ignoring AoE damage can be huge. Except for babysitting stupid Rurik, it wasn't very difficult.

They don't need to rage quit, they pickup things before you even notice. They also don't lag, or lose connection. They also don't listen. If I tell them to stay put, they figit around, yap and run to attack once enemies get too close. They don't always do as they are supposed to.
