Hidden re-set in Dajkah Inlet ?

I couldn't find any mention of a re-set upon doing a search here but it use to be that if a character had done the mission and gotten his or her 4 stolen sunspear armor pcs they never dropped anymore or were so rare that they were hardly seen again. I know my ranger ran the hell out of that mission showing guildies how to get their armor pcs and 4 pcs was all he ever managed it acquire.

Just recently guild activities have led me back to Elona once again and low and behold 4 more sunspear armor pcs from running that challenge mission. I have no idea how long it's been since I've actually ran the mission but is this a hidden re-set ?

o.O I did that with a friend and in within an hour he got five. I don't think it's very rare. This was about six months ago.

I haven't gone back to try it since the well dried up on my main (I believe I got 5 before the drops just stopped). I'll give it a run and see if I get results like yours. Since I was in the habit of selling those pieces back in the day (not knowing about the drop cap, or at least the drop radical reduction in probability, after 4 or 5) I could actually use a couple.

Edit: Just tried it, killed seven Guild Lords and got no armor pieces. My best guess is that it resets if you leave it alone for a good long time, but there's no sign of a general reset from that run, anyway.

If you can hold back the excitement of tacking your new sunspear armor to your heroes right after you get them from Dajkah, throw the pieces in your bank, and go back and try for more pieces with the same character. I've managed to gather 14 stolen sunspear pieces with just one character, all within a week - and I've never made it past the 5th guild lord (approx. 20 attempts in this time, a couple were without reward mind you).

One run I actually got 3 pieces out of 3 guild lords.

This also works for me for the other 2 challenge areas, especially Shadow Nexus.

How does it all work? Does it take 4 pieces to equip one hero (chest, gloves, pants, shoes)? Just recently started nightfall and this sounds interesting...

Now that's peculiar. Why would storing be different than selling? My drop rate died off after I sold 5 pieces, I didn't attach a single one to hero armor in that initial run.

My drop rate died right after I got 4 pcs which was pretty much right after Nightfall came out. Probably safe to say I havn't been there since shortly after NF was released.

Drop rates in there though have changed.

I can't say my method is a proven method of getting armor, however it's worked for me thus far, and honestly I do have 14 Sunspear pieces in my bank, as well as 7 Ancient and 5 Mysterious - all gathered by the same character, all within about 2 weeks total time.

I've always said, Guild Wars is 50% skill, 100% luck!
