prophecies to factions

i have a lvl 14 warrior. how can i get from prophecies to factions continent? am i correct in thinking in factions you gain experience a lot more quickly? is it difficult for a lvl 14 character to get to factions? i guess once the passage is open it can be used repeatedly.

Once you reach Lion's Arch, there is a quest to take that will get you to Cantha.

Prophecies characters wishing to travel to Cantha for the first time from Tyria should seek out Firstwatch Sergio in Lion's Arch and take the Mhenlo's Request quest.

Also, it's not difficult to get there, I brought a lvl 6 Mesmer over once.

And yes you do gain XP a lot faster. The XP reward for quests is much higher.

No, you simply have to take the quest given out in Lion's Arch. I don't remember specifics, but there isn't much fighting involved in the quest line, so taking henchies shouldn't pose a problem. At level 14 though, you will have some difficulty with the Afflicted mobs and Jade Brotherhood as they are a lot more powerful than most of the other creatures you may have encountered. I would recommend making sure you load up on monks until you hit the level cap.

The quests offer a lot more XP, so you will find gaining levels to be a lot easier in Factions (and Nightfall), than in Prophecies.

The quests in Factions do give a lot more XP, but you may not find it that much easier for a 14th level character.

The monsters outside of Lion's Arch are all around 13th level with bosses at 15th level. The monsters you will face right away in Factions will be 20th level, with bosses at 24th level.

However in Factions you will at least have 20th level henchmen and a party size of 8 to help you out, where as LA provides only 10th level henchmen with a party size of 6.

Yes, you can get there by taking the north exit from the Marketplace outpost and talking to an NPC on the docks there. He'll take you to Seitung Harbor.

However if its XP that you want, there's several moderately easy 3,000xp quests out of Kaineng City that will get you several levels very quickly.

Don't worry about the difficulty level too much. Like I said I took my lvl 6 Mesmer there and did all the Kaineng City and Marketplace qests with Henchmen. A lot of them are easy FedEx quests. You'll level up really fast. Also, you can cap elite skills from the bosses in the area. I had my first Mesmer elite at lvl 7
