Planning to upgrade The comp this year with a new graphics card/ram/etc and wanted to know if my power supply could handle this card or better

BFG is well known for their video cards, not their power supplies. But assuming your PSU is capable of what it's rated for (at a normal operating temperatures), then it should run the 8800GTX. A high-end system with that card won't draw that much power anyways (probably <400W), but it's good to leave some room for comfort. If it's not giving you any problems right now, then give the 8800GTX a try.
