ok i have a idea for a good xmass event item..

ok also of people give "ingame xmas presents" to others they are frends with..

agood idea is if there is a Crafter to craft a "Empty christmas Present" so you can put ANY ite inside it to make it a "Surprise Christmas Present" or somthing with a simalar name.

Some people might think this is a sill idea but i think its quite a good idea.

and when you give this Surprise XmasPresent to someone, the need to double click it to getthe item hidden inside it.

What do you all think?

Well, they are already trying to copy WoW enough as it is so I don't see a problem with them copying another feature.

Yeay GWoW2 or whatever. :/

I think that this would be a neat idea to impliment into the game, but make selling the items against the rules.

That would be really fun I think

Though Zesbeer is right, it would add a lot of potential for scammers.

Yes looks fun, but one thing could be nice to avoid some scammers.
item only remains hidden if given away for free.....

Maybe to avoid scammers, it could say Player Gift instead of Wintersday Present and have different colors. Or something that makes it obvious that it's not a Wintersday present, boardwalk prize, or birthday gift.

ok let me add some things.

1: Item NOT allowed to be sold at all. (Only to be given for free)
2: The item would not be called wintersday present it woul becalled somthing like "Surprise Chrismass Present" or "Friends Chrismass Gift" so its not confusing towards a Wintersday Present.

Scammers wouldnt be able to use this to scam with if theres a "Empty Xmas Present Crafter"

just add it to announcements on the GW Log In Page about a "New Crafter" for the special wintersday event.

also

To be able to craft this Empy Present it should cost somthing like 25 Glitter Dust and 200g or soomthing else cheap..

This was a fast idea i had.. and i dont know about WoW i never played i and i never even looked at it.

so i dont know what features they got..

but anyway were not talking about Wow this is GW ere talking about

I hope this would be implated into GW for the event.. id would make it more interesting..

now lets tak aboutthe idea more xD

I like the idea, could be fun sitting in a guild hall exchanging them, if not just for the "spirit of christmas"

I like it! I want to add one more thing, just to make it that much more fun - allow this player gift to be able to be dropped in town and picked up by anyone. It would be so fun to watch some wild gift-giver run through a town dropping gifts, followed by a conga-line of greedy bastards!

And yeah, craftable for a cost and materials so that it's not overdone by players.

Could you make them work like party crackers so 2 players must cooperate to pull the cracker with the prize going to one player 50/50 chance which one.

This could add to the lucky/unlucky title if they wished it to.

I'm one of them. As Zesbeer said, scammers will exploit it. How hard is it to put nothing into an xmas present, tell them you just put an ecto in and demand 3k?

Hmm EDIT: didn't see the reply saying they can't be sold. So how do you put them into trade window to give to people? /notsigned, baed idea.

how is Anet copying off of WoW? by doing things that most mmo's have? WoW isnt the only game with those kinds of instances, isnt the only game to have an auction house. heck, it wasnt even the first to have those either.

now to the OP. it would be nice to have that, but it would not happen in GW1. its too late for them to implement anything new.

If your stupid enough to buy a random xmas pressy off someone and pay a stupid amount because they say "it contains a really rare item" when you know it could be a char hide; then good luck to you in life!!!!

Do this, but dont allow people to exchange gold for them so no one gets scammed! Concidering its meant as a "gift" and "free" anyway!

So now you want them to rewrite the code for how the game handles trades? How would you allow an item to be traded, but not allow gold, or other items to be traded in exchange for it.

Idea is nice, but it is also ripe for exploits and scams.

Good idea. So you can wrap it up in the Chrismast Present for your friend? Good idea. Someone has said this might make ppl scam. I really dont think so. How can you scam people by that? If you can give me a reason I will give you 100k. Considering the present have unique skin compare to other items.
