Ok, i have an idea

i was inspired when i saw my kid bro playing maple story( gw kindergarten style)
and was surprised how all the people are nice. then i learn they have something called reputation where people friends/stranger would give u a +/- on your reputation point.

now for GW ill try to change it a bit.
Same +/- on reputation point
but here are the rules (to prevent most cheaters)
*only someone who finish all 3 campaign can do a + (to avoid cheaters buffing their character with + from a new char from a friends)
*only someone who finish atleast 2 campaign can do a -
*If given a - the reciever would get notified of who gave him a -
*if given a + the reciever would not get notified (to prevent the "u give me one ill give you one)
*you can only give 1 +/- a day per account
*you cant give a +/- to lvl 1-19 character to prevent abusing beginners.
*also no guildmate can give you a +/- only your guild leader (prevents guildie plus party)
now for the good part
higher the rep points higher the chance of either:
gold items, keys, exp, loot
lower the rep points lower the chance of :
gold items, keys, exp, loot and you can only party with people with same or below your rep. (only works for negative rep point)

Of course this would not remove all A$$Holes in the game, but it would prevent some from being one =p

what you think?

/sign ftw

Complicated. There is also no reason for it. It would be abused like no tommorow.

I've played MapleStory for a while, and I KNOW there are way more jerks in that game than Guild Wars. And that so called "reputation system," the only way to get a high amount of those is to buy them for in-game money o_O

This reputation system failed in Maple Story because people would buy and sell the reputation points. Or guilds would gang up and mass defame someone they didn't like.

When you want to use an example from another game, you should at least see how well it works in that game.

when a reputation system ..then with a different concept..reputation points only given by the game system ..not by other players, which can abuse them....

Report system is bad enough, just don't let baed people get to you. In a game with so many people playing it there's bound to be a few a-holes. I personally am too busy playing the game to watch a-holes and it's my god-given right to be one myself once in a while.

Scenario:

A person is acting like a complete moron and dislikes you for no good reason, which happens all the time.

They then tell everyone in their guild to give you negative repuation points and within 5 minutes your reputation has gone down quite a bit. All this because some immature moron didnt like the way you used a skill at the wrong time or you were selling an item a little expensive or just because their a jerk.

Good idea or bad idea?

Stupidiest idea I ever read and probably why it's in a kindergarten game. lol If you want to play "tattle tail" I suggest you go play that kindergarten game. lmao

Moronic. What about the people who only own 1 version of the game? They can't give + or -, but will be receiving the points? As noted, there are MANY ways to exploit this, both for + rep and - rep.

Go play Maplestory, it might be a better game for you.

These sort of things do not work.

You get people buying/selling rep.
People getting whole guilds or even the alliance to put negative rep on someone.

This would not work, lvl 20s could do it too eachother for no good reason. Or someone who was bad who got a -1 could do it to the good person. And true what Isileth said ^^^. Sorry, but its not gonna happen.

It wouldn't get rid of the rude people, it would just allow them to be even more rude, as people have pointed out. Just not a good idea at all. Would rather not have a -1209483025 rep because some guy in a huge guild was mad that I died or let him die. Just dumb.

Everyone already said what I was going to say (and have said before) about people selling their rep points.

Sorry, all you'll do is encourage abuse and/or only really buff the rich and stupid.
