Guild Wars account issue.
bradktulu
Okay, I'm posting this on behalf of my girlfriend who doesn't have an account on here.
She had recently purchased Guild Wars: Factions entered her serial number etc. and had created the character she wanted during this she had been transferring everything to a new email account - guild wars account included.
So she went through the process for changing the email on the account - and after she had, it now says she has the prophecies campaign registered on her account instead of factions.
Anyone have this happen to them before?
We haven't sent off a support ticket yet - just wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced this before, and how easy it was to get resolved.
Edit:
This may not have been clear so just to try and make it a little less confusing.
Factions was the first and only campaign my girlfriend had bought, so she created a brand new account, entered the serial number provided - had gone through the opening section of factions with an assassin reaching level 6 or so.
She decided to delete this character - and she had changed her email address for the account; after finishing this process she had logged in on her account but it was now showing the prophecies campaign.

I'm not sure that I'm understanding your problem. Did she have prophecies and added factions to it or did she have prophecies and just installed factions by itself? There is no way to change the email that is the account name. You can change the email that they have to contact you, but that's it.
bradktulu
I've changed my account name email after changing emails myself so it's definitely possible.
To be more clear though, she had created a new guild wars account - factions was the first campaign she bought, and the only. So she had the campaign running at first, but after changing the email address for the account, it now shows up as prophecies instead of the factions campaign she had added.

Well I don't know then. NCSoft told me that it was impossible to change the account name.

So, did she buy a CD or DL it? Does it actually run Prophecies or does it just say Prophecies under the keys but Factions is the chapter that loads?
bradktulu
She bought the cd, and it actually is proph. once it loads up and everything.
I'm really at loss as to what's going on with it, to be honest.
It's the factions disc, in the factions case but since she changed the email it is showing and loading prophecies.

To the OP: The problem sounds very strange :/ Support ticket is the way to go I would say.

Has she tried uninstalling and then completely reinstalling? Although, this sounds like it might be a problem with the key code or something. It never hurts to try, I guess.

My advice would be go with it.
Prophecies is superior anyway.
But honestly, if it's an issue, just contact support. I've never heard of this happening before, so I'm not sure any of us can be of much help.

Yep, Prophs > factions.

And if her factions account somehow switch to prophecies, then after creating a new character she'll end up in pre-search. Has she try that?

It could be a possibility that she has used the code for the prophecies trial you get when you get Factions, using one e-mail address. Try using the other e-mail address and check to see if it logs into Factions.

Similar to what was said above, it's possible that, instead of changing her login e-mail address, she actually made another new account. This new account either has a Prophecies trial key, or is actually someone else's account (not likely, if even possible), or there was a screw-up and she got free Prophecies.
I would guess that logging in with her previous e-mail address (account name) would get her back into her Factions account. Keep in mind that the e-mail address you use when you create an account is just an "account name" and can become invalid (as an e-mail address) when you change your actual e-mail address, but it will still be the "account name".
