The Best Interface Update?
HawkofStorms
Well, this is a simple enough discussion question.
What do you think was the best update a.net has done to the interface over the years? There are a lot of them. From cosmetic changes of the menus, to the way hexes are displayed, to the timer that appears under enchantments/hexes telling you how long they will last.
For me, there are 2 that are the "best."
1) The update to how deep wound was displayed. Although everybody who was good at the game knew that Deep Wound was a good condition, it did help a lot when they updated it so that you actually saw the health loss displayed on the health bars (instead of just a downward condition arrow appearing on their health bar). A lot of newbie people who had probablly never used deep wound before probablly started to see the value in it thanks to that update. That, and it is WAY more sastifying to hit somebody with deep wound now. The update acturately displayed an aready existing game play mechanic, and made it easier for new players to understand.
2) The color coding on skill activation which made it a lot easier for ranger and mesmers to see if they successfully interupted a skill or not.
So... discuss.

I think it was the timer on hexes, stances, hexes and other effects, it was nice to take the guessing game out of that.
Yichi
the addition of the timer till boost clock they added for gvg. counting that in my head while playing gvg sucked.
CyberMesh0
The enchant/hex timer was really cool. I also liked the party window status improvements, ie. the gray bar when you have deep wound, you know, stuff like that.
Mordakai
The timer on enchantments is awesome.
I don't know what I did before that....

Best update IMO
Gigashadow
Adding the progress bar for the skill your target is using (this happened WAY back).
super strokey
I personally liked the update where they showed you a green spot that you needed to progress to. It was in the first few months of the game and was really really welcomed by me.
MoriaOrc
I took a break from GW between the first and second Wintersday (give or take).
Best update to come back too (it's a really big interface update):

Colored skill cast bars, purple for interrupt was awesome for my ranger .
Theres been so many others I can't even remember them all. My mind has accepted them as standard now lol. Timer on conditions/enchantments/hexes are nice.
I also really, really, reallllllllllllllly liked the addition of the skill-tip toggle. That was clutch for my setup.

Since this is about the BEST UI update I won't go into the most annoying ones etc...
one of my favs is surely the timer on enchants as i'm a main caster (ele) and before that had to calculate the time remaining watching the skills recharging (attunements come to mind).
The deep wound notification is pretty good too, of course as it shouts out that a deep wound is in place, especially beneficial to monks. Perhaps they should make the bar change in response to other conditions as well such as blindness (Grey/brown?) and dazed (white?), not to mention the newly arrived, cracked armor (no clue just give it a color - i'd say shocking pink but that's already taken ). That way one could even remove the brown arrow i guess.
The PvP item creation screen was definately a big help. Thanks again for that, Anet.
Can't remember other ones but these three are my top 3 fav anyway

The party search window addition was nice, although not as major as the skill UI changes.
It's nice just sitting there waiting to be invited in AB o.o

You can't see me
I'm going to have to go with hex/enchant/stance length.
Onarik Amrak
Hex/Enchantment/Stance length is definitely useful.
What would be really awesome though... is the ability to flag henchmen separately.
