Possible reset of my account?
Ka El Windstorm
I went to get on GW today and it said it had to repair some data, okay i've had that before, i'm not sure why but it usually is fine afterwards. Well then it proceeds to download about 1 gig of info and it wants me to put in my email and password(my email is usually saved) well I log in and all my characters have their base armor on and when I went to go check my item, it's downloading everything, and I do mean everything over. Is this a bug, or did my files corrupt? It's probably going to take over an hour for it to download and install everything.

I've had it happen to myself twice so far. I think it's due to a corrupt gw.dat file and it resets itself. Don't worry, as soon as you're logged in, all your characters will still have all their equipment and items.
Also happens if you haven't played GW in quite a while (e.g. a month)

The Bard
yeah, sounds like it's just a bad .dat file you could just leave the computer on for a while and type -image in the guild wars shortcut and restart it and it'll download everything. so when you go on again the next time you won't wait for crazy loading times just because you need to download everything again, and your characters will have their real armor on the log in screen ^^ hope it helps hehe
Mammoth
run the game with the -image switch and that should solve any problems with stuff like that
I noticed that whenever I saw my characters in there starter armors it was simply because the game didnt download or decompress the artwork/textures/files for it. You either wait for it to do this, or close the game and use -image
If your game file (gw.dat) is already over 4GiB, delete it, pop in the newest game disc you have, or run the game with -image to reinstall it.
Hope this is of some help
