Can't Connect on Vista

Hi, i just bought myself a new pc a few days ago and had Windows Vista put on it. I've never had any problems connecting to GW before, but after installing and imaging GW on the new pc, the game will load, i'd enter my account and password and a 'connecting...' box appears in the middle of the screen. After that the game just stays there without doing anything. I've checked the stuff on plaync about this and let the game pass through vista's firewall and Zone Alarm, my second firewall. Í don't have any other anti-virus programs on my computer. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Disable both firewalls and see if you can connect. If you can, then enable them one at a time to see which one caused the problem. (And isn't 2 firewalls overkill?)

Tried that and got the same thing.

last time I used Zone Alarm with vista (ultimate), I ended up re-installing vista.

-on a side note, sure it(ZA) works well....but if you uninstall it from add/remove (unless fixed now) welcome to a headache.

try ZA's built in game mode. worked great when I used it.

and try bumping it down a notch...you're blocking ALL incoming traffic. that is why you can't connect.

Yeah had a few firewall problems as well which i both disabled however my soundblaster caused a lot of problems as well with vista64/guildwars.
