Possible to play guild wars offline?
Noxxle
Suppose that for some reason Arenanet/ncsoft go out of business and nobody else picks up guild wars. Assume there are no servers to log into. Is it possible to set up your own server and play guild wars as single player game?

It's possible, but who would want to host it?
Kong

Host it? could you just load it up on the computer you are playing with?
Kong
guild wars on it's own is a client, it has no hosting capabilities.
in order to host you'd need any and all server info and software ncsoft is using to host the game... which they will never release.

When you're setting up a server, you're expecting visitors. And besides the game files are already on our computers, servers are needed to have such things like outposts with other people and possibility to message across in a chat.

I believe he means private servers like Ragnarok....
you'd have to steal or buy the data.
Both are bad....so DONT DO IT!
