Destroyer Weapons

I'm spicing up my Hall Of Monuments on my Warrior and I bought a destroyer staff to display in it. But before I continue, I want to know if it will be customized for me in GW2

Apparently you won't be able to take items over to GW2. So you won't get your destroyer staff back.

It unlocks small "bonuses" in GW2. Nothing gamechanging. Just something similar to a free t-shirt boasting "I was there".

they aren't going to give anyone an advantage in GW2 based off their monument in GW1. You will get something that will make you stand out compared to people who didn't play the originals.

Actually, nobody knows how GW2 will work. I mean, you might get Destroyer Weapons in GW2, but nobody knows for sure. The idea of small "cosmetic differences" is the general agreement by the community, but it is nowhere confirmed.

Lets not ask questions about equipment in a game released 2 years from now.
We don't even know if customization will exist then.

As has been said, no one outside of Anet really knows what things in the HoM will do in GW2.
But to sort of address your question - it depends upon what you mean by "customized for me". AFAIK - your current character names in GW1 are reserved for you in GW2, but whether you start a character with the old name, or with a new name, you will be able to tie the new character to one HoM from GW1.
It's not known what attributes or stats weapons will have in GW2, but I think it's safe to say that they will be different than they were in GW1. So, probably, the most you may get out of a weapon in the HoM would be the ability to use the "skin" on a GW2 weapon.

It should probably be noted that anything anyone other than Gaile tells you in this thread is likely nothing more than speculation or rumors. None of us have any idea what the HoM rewards will be like in GW2. We only know our current characters/armor/weapons will not be directly transferring... that doesn't mean the reward might not be something equivalently cool.
