Bannable or not?

i have 1.4% left to explore in cantha...
so can i be banned if i use a tex-mod ?

I think that there has been a thread about this before, and the general concensus(?) was no, you can not be banned. I'm not positive though so you might want another opinion.

you'll be looked down on by the people that did it the right way but no, it is not bannable.

What exactly does the text mod do? How does it affect the title?

Sorry, I guess I missed the thread.

Tex mod allows you to load different graphic modifiers for the game. The mapping mods change the color of the foggy areas to red so you can more readily see them and make mapping much easier. There are other mods available, but only visible to you and not other players.

You can find links to it on guildwiki. It is tolerated by Anet.

i cant do my self a mapcheck..i have a widescreen 20" monitor now and cant find a 100% map in 1600*1050
i know its a cheap way to do the title...but ive done tyria and elona in the old-school way

In my opinion its no different than mapchecking. If people think texmod is a cheap way to get the title then so is mapchecking.

knock your resolution down to 1440x900 if its a widescreen. you'll be able to find a map at that rez
