Un-nerf trapping [PLEASE VIEW AND RATE!]

The new nerf on trapping makes trapping useless. It was already hard to trap as it was, now the trapper has huge energy management problems and the traps that he does lay don't do any dmg...so he usually dies like a small dog. Trapping is no fun anymore not to mention useless, the guild wars support team told me to post my message here so you guys can view it, agree with me, and give it a 5 rating. Only then will they "consider" my idea.

Traps have been a bit bad for a while now, id like to see a bit more fire power added to them, perhaps at the cost of recharge, you know make it so one flame trap accually deos somthing, with the easily interuptable status needed to spam them really makes them not very vaible anywhere.
So i think, buff traps, leave EW. Forget farming builds they dont matter, make traps worthy in pvp imo.

Just tried my trapper build using Barbed, Flame and Dust trap and don`t understand the problem, seems the same. Maybe I use it for a different purpose or something.

I so agree with you on trapping. ANET please stop nerfing my PvE just to make the PvP happy. I know there are those that like PvP but I like a good story, hunting down that perfect bow, and questing.

I'm guessing you're talking about solo-farming with traps using EW no longer works very well. Balancing a team game around the effectiveness of a skill in solo play is a really bad idea, to put it mildly. So, even though I played that solo trapping build and enjoyed it, I do not agree at all. You asked for a rating, so I'll add a 1 for you.

this thread is a joke
QQing about not being able to farm as solo trapper is not a valid reason to be buffing something that was nerfed in the first place for the sake of game balancing, i.e. EW duration and cost (assuming thats the nerf ur talking about, and btw dust trap hasnt been nerfed to half dmg, so 0/10 for proper explanation of the issue for me too)

Dude don't get mad, mostly it is pvp here, you should have expected this reaction. They don't understand what we are talking about and they are scared that they will have a new challenge.

And forget about posting here to get anything like this changed. From what I have seen ANET consideres PvP the most important area. For prof read some of the stuff anet employees post at the guild wiki.

The pets nerf was absolutely ridiculous imo. Or at least they should make it localized to pvp.
However, when the only thing affected is only one SOLO FARMING build, it doesn't matter at all. Adapt a bit. One solo farming build is not as important as HA.

I hardly think that just rating this thread a 5 will get enough attention to make the Guild Wars team revert trapping back to how it was. They only really consider changing the game mechanics if the majority of players agree, and make a big fuss about it.
Having traps just for farming, and having little other use other than the trapper in HA, is stupid. They want to make them less useable for farming, and maybe they'll change traps to make them more versatile.
As for the energy management problem with EW, again, they aren't ruining your pve experience, just stopping people from solo farming in the UW (affects GW economy).
Basically, they aren't doing anything without having thought about it.

Solo farming is important especially when factor in thing like drop rate, over farming, and rarity. The drop rate for stuff like ecto is so low that taking another person seems to hurt more then help. I am currently farming rubies and ecto so I can get armor for my HoM (not to flood the market). I am lucky in the fact that I can get my wife to smite for me every so often, but most of the time I have to drag a smite or ss around behind me.
Solo trapping is over with, the best trapping experience I every had was trapping in the deep. Big group behind me and I would setup traps, pull then the people behind me would clean up. Those days are gone.

You can still do 8 man teams... last i checked urgoz was still trapped (before the nerf though)

Trapping SHOULD be nerfed, it's stupid in HA where there's a small map, because you can't avoid the traps, and if there are lots of them, it's too much pressure. I'm glad they ruined them.

As always I have to state that nerfs are not balance, they need to step up and make skills that counter abused builds rather than destroy the builds.
An assassin skill that disarmed traps would solve the PvP issues and leave the traps alone for PvE use.
That being said traps do still work fine in PvE, just not as effective as before for damage and not useable as solo farming build.

So you expect them to introduce new skills every time someone finds a new build that ends up being over-used? And say, the majority of trappers are in teh UW. So, are they going to put some assassins there to counter the trappers?
I stand by most of the nerfs, because they are just following common sense, whether or not the players like them.

I now return you to your topic about un-nerf trapping.
Instead of nerfing why not just make it harder. The 55 Solo ruled the UW farming until they introduced Dying Nightmares. Why not make it more difficult with larger patrol areas or shortened agro time.

ANet does not care about solo farmers. Skills are nerfed when PvP'ers QQ. It's a fact of GW life. Even if you managed to get 100 posters to agree with you ANet is not going to change it unless the PvP'ers start asking for a change.
