I never really tried using Arcane Mimicry on heroes, but wanted to have a monk hero that can take someone's Healer's Boon so it can use a different healing elite.....like the buffed WoH. I tried messing around and they're actually somewhat smart with it:
They take whoever's elite they're spec'd most into - I took random heroes and henches outside with Odgen using mimicry. The first elite he took was Mhenlo's WoH. I took mhenlo out, and he then took Healer's boon from Tahlkora. Then i tried setting his Prot prayers to 12 and everything else to 0, and he took Lina's ZB. Finally, I set his attributes to 0 and went outside....he didn't use Mimicry. I slowly highered his prot prayers and when it hit 7, he took Lina's ZB.
That mean's you pretty much have control over what elite heroes will mimicry. You can have a monk hero take Healer's boon off someone, and with really high Divine favor and an enchanting weapon, it'll have about 20secs of downtime. During the time it's up, WoH heals for 195hp at 15healing, and 345 when you get the conditional healing
They use mimicry everytime it's available so you don't have to micro anything.
Arcane Mimicry and heroes...

Good idea, hadn't thought of doing that on a monk (tried it on ele's).
I've used Healer's Boon myself but it was too hard to pass up WoH...having both is pretty neat
As nice as the big heals are with WoH+HB, energy could be a problem and 20+ secs downtime sux. So i'd prob stick with 2xWoH for sustained spike management.

Genius My ele heros always have issues managing their energy, but I could give one [skill]Elemental Attunement[/skill] and the other two [skill]Searing Flames[/skill] and [skill]Arcane Mimicry[/skill] for endless 2e spam Must try. Wonder if the sf eles would copy each other though..

Isn't it a problem if you have 2 or more people using arcane mimicry? I noticed that if 1 person has 2 elites and you try to use arcane mimicry, odds are you will get the other elite and not the one you want.

I believe it has to do with the relative position of arcane mimicry and the other elite on the skill bar. Try switching them. I suspect it works just like when you have 2 or more elites on your skill bar and you zone - you keep the rightmost one, even if it started out as a cap sig. Try putting mimicry to the left of the elite you want to mimic on both people.

What if you ran two Searing Flames eles with 12+2 Fire and 12+2+1 Energy Storage with a Elemental Attunement RI spammer? Would they consistently copy the Attunement? 11 second downtime if it works :-)

I just tried taking 3 eles out of balths temple. 2 had energy storage higher than fire and they grabbed vekk's attunement elite. However nomatter where I put the 2 searing flames elites/ arcane mimicries vekk always ended up with 2 ele attunements. So it seems like you'd need a different build for the one who brings the ele attunement elite.

12+1+1 Fire
12+1 Energy
Elemental Attunement
Fire Attunment
Rodgort's Invocation
Meteor Shower
Fire Ball
Ward against Melee
Liquid Flame
Generic Resurrect
Helps sustain burning and deals a massive amount of damage.

I vaguely recall reading somewhere it takes it in alphabetical order, so ele attunement will always be taken over searing flames. Haven't confirmed that though. In any case, copying sf is a bit of a waste for only 20 seconds out of 60. The value comes from copying long / maintainable enchants.

I understand, but if you were mainly wanting the ele attunement carrier to also use searing flames, then it wouldn't work. So you would basically be shorting yourself another searing flames ele inorder to get the other chars to spam it with more energy.
Cathode_Reborn
For HM, a dual attunement air ele can spam Lightning orb/Hammer and Shell shock for some high damage, while helping the fire ele do more damage with Cracked armor. The better part is having a blind spammer...works well in hm. Only downside is heroes will spam blind on any target, even if it's already blinded. But still, I don't like bringing more than 1 fire ele in tough hm areas.
One random thing I always hated about ele's is if a target dies while you're casting a spell, you don't get the energy from your attunements

I did some further testing with arcane mimicry. I used one hero with elemental attunement, two heroes with searing flames and arcane mimicry, and Cynn, who's elite (in GW:EN) is [skill]mind blast[/skill]. I did each test case 5 times and got the same result each time, which I believe is sufficient to form a theory, but not absolute proof.
Here is what I was able to determine:
If fire magic is higher than energy storage, the heroes will both copy Mind Blast from Cynn. If you don't bring Cynn, each hero will copy Searing Flames from the other hero.
If you set energy storage higher than fire magic (I tried for 13/12 and 11/10), both heroes will copy elemental attunement, regardless of whether or not you bring Cynn.
If you set energy storage equal to fire magic (I tested them at 12 and at 13) and bring Cynn, you appear to have a 50% chance to copy Elemental Attunement or Mind blast (I had one hero copy each skill every time I tested, but I didn't test with just one hero to see if he would always copy the same one).
If you set energy storage and fire magic equal and don't bring Cynn, both heroes seem to reliably copy elemental attunement.
So it does seem to be based on what you spec, but it seems that the hero will not copy the elite they already possess if they have an "equal" choice. Only when two choices equal choices are offered which are not the elite you currently possess does there seem to be some sort of variance.
I didn't do any testing with mimicking from another mimic, or any testing to see if secondary classes are preferred less than primary when stats are equal. I would be interested to see test cases on these.
