Everytime I try to start up Guildwars it says this.
"Unable to Initialize 3D output. Please make sure you got Direct X 8.0/higher installed dahdahdah click here to find out more... Links to GW Site that gives no info."
I have Direct X9 Installed off the GW CDS and I was playing Guildwars like 2 Hours ago so whats wrong with it? I tryed reinstalling but it seems not to do anything at all.
Anyone provide some help here? thanks

Any other game works?
Try Start-> run-> type "dxdiag"
If that says everything is norma, then IDK.

i got one of those messages a few months back. first symptom with the game was that it froze, then i had to reboot my computer. it restarted, then i tried running the game but it would not open and just sat that message right in the middle of my screen.
after about 10 minutes of cursing, i poked around and asked a few friends (which 1 happened to be over at the time and knew a lot about computers--so he was nice about opening up and looking inside for physical differences) and he had told me my motherboard had fried--which started with the video card first, then spread around to a few other things in a short amount of time (video card and motherboard were entwined unfortunately).
i did not realize but my house had been hit by lightning the night before and caused some mad damage to vital parts of my computer. the only thing i could do was buy a new one and reinstall gw for 6 hours if you can recall any recent environmental instances such as weather or maybe some event that would affect hard drive/motherboards/internet connections/power supply adversely, that would also be a big help...to go "back in time" for a day or so.
possibly if nothing else take it to a shop or friend you trust that can diagnose any serious physical problems with your machine. worst case scenario you probably need a new computer. best case scenario--there might just be something else you need to download to support new drivers or whatnot, especially if you converted over to vista, which is full of its own problems here and there :P ._O
hope that helped. if it didn't, you obviously found out what was wrong with it before i posted xD
