Xunlai Title

Just thought of this, and didnt find it while searching new title ideas, so i apologize if it has been suggested already... i thought it would be kinda cool to have a title for the amount of money you have in storage, as of now i have no ideas for the ranks, and not sure of the mechanics of this title (you spend money so it would decrease the title? making it a "non-max" title?) but just throwing it out there, would be a bit of a laugh......perhaps a "Mr/Ms Money Bags" kind of laugh....

Way too easy for people to cheat to get (Ebay) whereas the other titles for the most part take actual work/a lengthy time commitment. Titles should be earned, and money can be simply hoarded.

.....seriously? I think this has to be one of the worst title suggestions I've ever seen, and I've seen some pretty bad title suggestions.

Sorry, but I gotta agree with the others. I don't like it.

How about an alternate idea though that might work....

New Title: Spendthrift. Every gold piece you spend counts towards the title.
Tier 1: (100k spent)
Tier 2: (500k spent)
Tier 3: (1 mil spent)
Tier 4: (5 mil spent)

Money traded to other players doesn't count towards the title. Only money spent at NPCs counts.

i like this idea too, not bad. this would be easy to get off ebay tho, and i realize that my idea would be too, i did contemplate with the idea of making it a non-max title/decreasing title tho....so i guess it would be an "indicator" rather than a title......pointless....yes, but just for s***s and giggles....

True, but you'd still lose money that way. You can't re-sell them back to the trader or to other players for the same amount you bought them for so it still works.

However the one flaw I can think of is the festival ticket seller. He'd have to be exempt from this since we can sell back tickets for the same price we paid.

Anyways, I doubt this will ever be implemented but if it is then these types of things need to be considered. For example under my tier structure of max title at 5 million spent, a player can quickly and easily max it by spending just 2.5 million. Buy 5 million worth of lockpicks. Resell back to merchant for 2.5 million. Anet will need to consider this when setting the tiers.

Overall I still think my idea is a good one. We already have lots of titles ingame for stuff we do normally everyday (opening chests, id'ing items, exploring, doing missions) so why not one for spending. If you say it's a horrible idea just because it can be easily obtained on ebay, well then a lot of titles can be easily obtained on ebay.

Nothing more to say, really. A title directly based on wealth will increase greediness and the scams that go along with it. :P
