Roses of the Moonlight Sigil [RoMS]

Mo/Rt

Hi! My name is Rain Over Pebbles, leader of the Roses of the Moonlight Sigil (or RoMS, www.rosesofthemoonlightsigil.org )

We are a primarily PvE focused guild with some PvP activity, usually AB or GvG Skirmishing. We do not faction farm, and no donations of faction, items, or time are ever required for membership in the guild. We are a loosely organized group of people who enjoy playing together, chatting, and debating the metaphysical nature of Waffcakes, why Aardvarks will one day rule the world, and why the Primeval Rangers keep trying to overthrow me *sad*

The guild is run by my girlfriend and I, and we generally have a family-friendly environment in our alliance and guild channel (Approx PG/light PG-13). We are looking for members who are fun to be around, easygoing, able to laugh at failure without making other people feel bad, able to play the game without stressing how leet they are every 5 seconds, and who enjoy hanging out with a number of odd individuals who might go off on some very random tangents at any given time All ages and levels are accepted, as long as they demonstrate the needed maturity to not constantly annoy the guild and/or alliance.

Please keep in mind that we are NOT a guild whose focus is success in-game at all costs. Win or lose, our emphasis is on having fun while we do it, chalking failures up to a learning experience. We will not spend hours doing something where we're not having fun only for the purpose of winning it. This isn't to say that we run at the first sign of trouble, but, neither do we expect our members to keep ramming their heads into a brick wall after it's clear that a task is too much for a party. Further, we frequently undertake tasks without much prior knowledge of what will happen in that mission/dungeon/etc, and frequently make things harder on ourselves than they would be if we used the 'perfect' or 'accepted' builds that win missions/dungeons 100% of the time. Therefore... if you want to WIN above all things, this is not the guild for you. If you want to have FUN above all things, that's our goal. That said - while the experience of our members does vary, we've played together enough that we're used to this playing style and generally do well against most challenges. (The others.. well, takes a few tries.) [grin]

We currently have 85 members, with 25-40ish logging on daily (about 50-60 weekly).... Most of our members are in the U.S. and Canada and are mostly active on weekends and evenings, however we have several members in other countries and have different play schedules. We'll often do quests, missions, or just whatever together, although no activities are explicitly mandatory.

RoMS is part of a 9-member Kurzick alliance which we are extremely proud of, the Chronicles of Auspicious Fate. The alliance is founded on the principle of not having to deal with politics and drama or excessive time spent on administrative sillyness, just having fun, helping each other out, and joking around along the way. We are based in an isle of meditation guild hall.

Generally, we're looking for the following qualities in our members:

- Pleasent demeanor, even in frustrating circumstances. The game is frequently stressful at some points and it doesn't help anyone's fun if someone is letting off steam at the expense of others.
- Enough maturity to work in an effective team. Skill level, and experience in the game itself are irrelevent
- Willingness to fail as well as succeed. We'll be doing both.
- Good communication skills - We have to be able to understand you.
- Able to adhere to a maximum PG/light PG-13 rating on guild and alliance chat. (No swearing, no explicit content.)
- Not be rude, selfish, or otherwise perpetually annoying.
- Strong sense of humor and appreciation for insanity highly recommended
- Must be self-sufficient and patient. While many RoMS members are happy to help with things and often do missions/quests together, none are required to do so. Being able to handle problems that arise on your own, and having patience until others are available to help, are things we look for. Which is not to say that you can't ask and see who's available, of course!
- Ability to appreciate the accomplishments of others, even if they aren't something that you would find challenging. Do not hold yourself as the shining beacon to which all are judged in thier worthiness. Why? Because everyone is an individual, and plays the game in thier own way. We are not looking for someone to worship. We're looking for friends who appreciate who we are, what RoMS is, and who enhance the fun of the game for us.

RoMS requires an interview before accepting new members in order to help keep our ranks filled with people who would make the guild fun for everyone. If you are interested in membership, please send an email or Guru PM to "Rain Over Pebbles" answering the following questions: (TIP: I take this interview
very seriously - you will bode the best chance of being accepted if you put effort into your answers.)

1. In your own words, what are you ideally looking for in a guild?

2. Why do you devote time to playing Guild Wars?

3. What campaigns do you have?

4. How long have you been playing the game?

5. What are your favorite PvE activities?

6. Do you have any interest in PvP, and if so, what are you favorite PvP activities?

7. What is your favorite thing about Aardvarks?

8. If you were the founder of a new civilization on a distant planet, what would you call it?

9. If you could be any type of animal bent on destroying the world, what type of animal would you be and how would you do it?

10. What are all your current character names?

Thanks, and have a good one!
