GWEN Heroe stole my items?

Only way to get those back unfortunately is to buy GW:EN.

Crap happens! Not sure it would be that hard to remove epuiped stuff from heroes in the code but it`s not really worth the trouble. I know that sounds a little harsh but they got other stuff to do.
Either put it down to experience/loss and farm/buy those greens again with in game cash or buy GW:EN with real cash and say hi to those heroes again. Up to you.

The OP knew he had a 5-hour trial, and still did not retrieve weapons given to GW:EN-specific heroes before it ended. We all make mistakes, and this is no exception... but to suggest that this is an issue of Anet's ethics?

It does say at the 1 hour AND 30 min mark how long you have left soooooo.

If he didn't put the "Spoiler" alert in there someone would have cried about the spoiler. Better safe than sorry.

Or Anet's maybe, did they actually state on their site this would happen, if not no fault on this guy is it really!

At this time, it's not possible to get them back unless you buy GW:EN. However, this problem, and the "can't abandon the quests" thing are probably known to ANet, and it's quite possible that they are working on a solution.
It's not just a matter of a "few lines of code" though. They would now have to change things so that you can access the heroes to remove items or access the quests to abandon them, without allowing you to use them. As Skybane pointed out, since we don't work for ANet, and most of you obviously know nothing about real programming, we have no idea of how complex (or simple) that may be.
But I wouldn't be surprised if sometime soon there is a small update that allows you to do those things.

I hesitate to say it, but this reminds me of the furor around the BMP. In this case ANet said you won't have access to your heroes after the trial. "Won't have access" would seem to indicate to me that I'd better take anything I want to keep, off them, before the trial ends.
I know, from things I've written up at work, how important/difficult it is to make things "idiot proof". Maybe ANet needs to bite-the-bullet and hire an "idiot proofer" (in 18 different languages )

Samething happened to me cept I didnt have any space in my storage so I gave the heroes my items XD

I was actually able to stand in Rata Sum for well over the 5 hours

If you want your items back you better buy gwen XD

you may want to e-mail support on Anet to get you another trial key

same thing happend to me when i got the preorder for gwen i had vekk whit exuros will and ogden whit a scar eater i got them back when i bought gwen,i also capped eagle pet on preorder and anet didnt take it away :P

Why would they take your pet? So, should I also email them and say that? Even though I didn't once so much as glance at what they were wielding. In fact, I didn't add not one of them to my party the entire trial, but hey, if it gets me another free 5 hours...

I really don't think another free 5 hours would be given. Complaining about lost weapons in Guild Wars is unsubstantial across the scope of the game. They have to follow the philosophy of "If we gave one person a second chance, then we'd have to give EVERYONE another chance" Not so good for the sales then huh? (oh forgot to add I see what you are saying Smile , I quoted you with the intent of emphasizing your point lol).

The simple solution, unless ANet programs something up, which I doubt, is to just get those weapons or something similar. Clearly they weren't THAT useful to yourself if you gave them to your heroes immediately. I keep what I care about on me, the heroes can fend for themselves with pre-order items lol.

lol....its not very ethical that u didn't use your head..its a preview so you shouldn't have expected that you would have been bale to keep the heros once it was over. and the items are from tombs anyway. not that hard to get or if anything its just a few plat to buy them all back.

Would a thank you note from Vekk or Ogden make you feel any better?

Woah there man, don't need to be THAT harsh. That bubble, although somewhat helpful, doesn't describe to the less scrutinous of trialers that weapons become locked onto heroes. It just gives you a timeframe. He didn't have a problem with how long he had left, he just assumed that his weapons would return somehow.

You need to relax yourself there kiddie.

And I still think its easy since they went in people's inventories and removed that axe a few years back, so read my full post before you open your mouth next time.

Relax dude, it does say that you have time but how many people would actually think to remove their items off heros??

I do feel sorry to the op that there stuff is locked but common sense would suggest that as this was a trial and things would
get locked (Hero's) after the time period so anything you put on the hero's would be too.
The only way to get them back now is to buy GWEN sorry.


On one of my accounts that didn't have GWEN yet only the trial I actually played for 7 hours or so after the 5 hours time
because I had just zoned into a new zone in Gwen and then got the 30 min then 30 sec left pop up.
I was expecting to be bounced back to a town or at the lest my hero's so be grayed out but
nothing happened so kept playing in the particular zone for another 2 odd hours.

It was only when I zoned to a town in Gwen i actually bounced back to LA
instead and lost the hero's.
